Homestead DIY

Homestead DIY

We also recently bought a barndominium on 10 acres, so we are still trying to figure all that out.
Just bought a Kubota Tractor, CanAm Defender SXS. Just built a greenhouse. Planning a grilling and smoking deck. Starting to work on fencing.

I do a lot of DIY stuff. Woodworking, fixing stuff, making stuff. Whatever. I like being outside doing stuff.

If it is broke, we'll try to fix it. If it ain't broke, we'll likely break it.

I love to do One Day Projects. But, ironically, they take me about Two Months.

Please feel free to email me at: [email protected]

    It would have been Frenchport church. But I know some of the people in these were from Calhoun County (Hampton/Banks area), but I'm not sure what church they attended. Most of these churches weren't affiliated with any denomination.

    Wow, 15 years of service from an electronic UI device isn't bad as it stands. That's amazing that all you had to do was blow out some dust to get even more life out of it.

    Thanks. I can't say I've used it consistently for 15 years, but it would be used for a bit, then stored for a bit. Just depended on how much video editing I was doing. But it does seem to be solidly built.

    By chance does anyone know if this same part number will fit a L2501? Makes no sense, put holes in the fender, cover with orange tap, and not just put a darn handle on it. I'm a little OCD, so having things symmetrical is important to me.

    Don't know for sure. But I believe it would be the same between the L2501, L3301, and L3901. Pretty much the same tractor. But yes, I don't get why they didn't just include it. We pay way to much for these tractors. The new L3902 tractor comes with the handle by default, I believe.

    @@ctdope You are correct. It is a straight 6. I typically do the same thing. I just mean 6 Cyl but say V6. But you are right it is a straight 6. And that's the reason I hate to give up on this jeep. The motor is just awesome. The rest of the jeep is a rust bucket.

  • @ctdope
    @ctdopeАй бұрын

    @homestead_diy I also have a 2004 GC, but its a 4.7 V8. I got it from PA, shipped to Florida. It has rust from up there sadly. So that means, it's days are numbered shorter than if it was in a western state. I love it, but I know, I won't be able to keep it 4ever. It has its issues also. The computer doesn't seem to like O2 sensors that aren't MOPAR, and MOPAR wants almost $800 to replace all 4. It's crazy how some parts are so expensive for an old vehicle.

  • @homestead_diy
    @homestead_diyАй бұрын

    @@ctdope The people I bought mine from had moved down from Illinois. So it was exposed to a lot of salt. The big rust spot I have was repaired at one point but rusted out again. Deck is looking good. I like the center divider, it gives it a trimmed out look. In the next video are you going to come back and flush up the deck boards or leave them as is? Might be tricky to flush them given the posts will be in the way for a few cuts but a circular saw and a chalk line would take care of most of them and a hand saw for the rest.

    Very nice progress! I have some fence posts I need to replace and man, between the auger and the concrete mixer... I wish you lived closer so you could come help me out! Question, for those metal t-posts and the string being out by an inch, do you think the post was off or was it just a little crooked or bent? Being off by so little seems like a couple of bumps on the post and you'd be back to square.

  • @homestead_diy
    @homestead_diy2 ай бұрын

    Thanks. I think for the T-Posts, they just weren't 100% straight up and down. So I had it squared off at the top, but didn't always translate to the holes ending up exactly where they needed too. I had to dig out a couple of holes a bit larger. But it was really close by the time I added the concrete.

    The first screw up was at 1:30 using deck screws in the joist hangers. Those will rust out & shear off. You used the proper structural nails through the toe nail holes, why not through the rim joist holes? Still it's a really cool build and I hope it holds up for you. Happy BBQing!
