well done gettin residency sorted , gd videos, hope u report that pot holes on bridge to road buildersx
Bulgaria is a great country. Full of hidden gems. You have made the right decision moving somewhere so beautiful.
For health reasons, you would be wise to remove the mould from the wall(s) as soon as possible. While many people use bleach, it does not kill all the mould. It will remove most of it with scrubbing and rinsing, but spores will survive. You need to use vinegar to kill all the mould spores. Alternatively, use this recipe: 1 quart of hot water, 1 tablespoon of baking soda (sodium bicarbonate), 2 tablespoons of washing soda (sodium carbonate), and 2 tablespoons of TSP (trisodium phosphate). Both of these options are far cheaper than using Concrobium Mold Control Spray.
recently found you guys and i love your new house, so glad you got your residency sorted x
Glad you sorted your residency out always a bit daunting.
A gas mask ! How strange, bit weird ! 🤣
You can take the Gas Mask off now mate.
🤣😂
Hola from Spain. Looking forward to following you. After 18 years living in Spain , 6 years totally off grid in a tiny little cabin, no water, ne electric, and hest years ever. We then built our beautiful home, wnd after 10 years living in that we decided at the rioe old age of 73 we wanted another adventure. We bought an old Spanish Casita unlived in for over 20 years and started all over again, woodworm and all. Two years on, hard work, more tears and problems than a complete build, we are very happy. The secret us to keep smiling through the ups & downs, enjoy the journey, and at the end of a hard day, sut with a glass of wine & enjoy the view. ❤️
Hi Patricia, thanks for your comment, and for the follow. Your adventure sounds fun! LOL I bet living off grid has made you stronger. Hoping the woodworm situation improves. We're very much looking forward to sitting and enjoying the view, with cuppa at very least. 😉

I can understand that Cinzia, but we think there's no point in worrying about something that we can't control, may not happen and letting it stopping you live your life.
That is a Scolopandra centipede....DO NOT play with any live ones you see..The bite will not kill you but it is excrutiatingly painfull. The pain can last for days.
Thanks for the warning. Sounds very scary and we will avoid at all costs if possible. I hope we don't see any live ones!
Wishing you guys all the best on your new adventure!
Thanks so much Nicky. We can't wait to be back for good.

Thank you so much for your lovely comment. Happy that you are enjoying our vlog. 🙂
These concrete reservoir not sink was made for wine making
Thank you - we did wonder if it was for rakia maybe.
Sorry for laughing at you spitting out the cherries 😂 There are different kinds of cherry trees in Bulgaria , looks like you have the wild cherries ...more tart tasting but great for jams 😊 Wishing you all the best on your journey
🤣 yeah glad I captured that moment, maybe they just weren't ripe, but all the better of they are great for jams as we plan to make lots if the fruit is available to us after the birds make the most of it. Thanks so much Sue 🙂
Some are sour Morello for the other type there's no english name
Vishna-Вишна (possible Morello in english term) & Vishnap-Вишнап. From Vishna mixed with Rakia & sugar we make sweet brandy. Some ppl make cherry wine too.
@@NewBulgariansjust remember if you need winter woods ask the local Forest Man a foreman he'll give you the exact trees to cut & pay for, not from the private but from the county forests. My family owns 3 decars of woods we aren't allowed to touch them so we have to buy logs. If you have to cut your own trees in your own house yard ASK the mayor what type of trees you can cut some counties or districts don't allow cherry cuttings even in your own house or outside property. All over in BG cutting whole walnut trees is ILLEGAL unless the tree is dried. The big local wise guys & rich Sophians got away with everything but the small poor guy - no escape no mercy he's the one going to prison the Bulgarian laws & justice are very nasty & strict to us they don't apply for the rich.
@@udififkfkfckThanks we will do, we know about walnut trees being protected, unfortunately we don't have one in our garden, which is a shame.
Please invite all your friends and family to join you in embracing the opportunity to become new Bulgarians. There are thousands of properties like this one across the country waiting to be snapped up. I moved here from the UK four years ago and have never regretted it for a moment.
Thanks for your message - we would love for our family to join us, maybe in the distant future they will who knows. Glad to read you are enjoyoing your new life in Bulgaria. 🙂
Of all the English families that I follow on youtube, your house is the best maintained so far. I mean - requires very little work. Just needs a few touches here and there. But, wow! All that land would scare me off, really. ❤❤❤ Don't forget to put up a pool, or directly dig up one.
Thank you Nadya, your comment means a lot to us. 🤗The land is a biit scary and we're still unsure what we will do with it yet, but have plenty of time to think about it.
Absolutely lovely!
Thank you! 😊
Nice place 👌 which region did you choose this time?
Thank you. 🙂Stara Zagora
Lovely plot iam moving to Bulgaria next month to start house hunting I can't wait handing in my notice at work this morning 😊
Thanks so much. Lucky you, we wish we were handing in our notices today. Hope all goes well for you - we're following your journey 👍
@@NewBulgarians will have to meet up sometime in future over there when your back
@@TheOffgridNomadUK Sounds good! Whereabouts are you going to be based?
@@NewBulgariansno idea yet going house hunting want to be around VT area
@@TheOffgridNomadUK Good luck with your search 👍
So was the house expensive?
No not expensive, just more than we paid the first time around in 2005 lol.
Yes I've noticed the house prices have gone up a lot since we bought. Our house was done up to appeal to rich foreign buyers on the cheap but it's one street back from the village square . The village has seven or eight shops including a diy and a chemist and there's even two buses through the village on week days one to the city of Burgas and another to the town of Pomorie .
@@KathThomas-wf2tc Yes prices have increased a lot for sure, and in a lot of cases unjustifiably so when it comes to the condition. Our village is a large one with lovely lakes and a forest, lots of amenities including shops, cafes, bars, health service, post office etc all within walking distance, and still not too far from Stara Zagora or Plovdiv. We're more than happy with what we've got. 🙂
Good I'm glad that your village has also got lots going on. I sometimes get a bit fed up of being on my own but I knew that my second husband as an only child wouldn't be free to be with me for a while. But in the meantime I'm making decisions that I'd like to have his opinion on but I've arranged double glazing for the whole of the house, air con for the upstairs and of course arranging with the village Mayor's office to get and pay for everything including fire wood more than once. Then I'll have to find and pay someone to cut it into logs tharn I'll be the one moving the logs into storage at the side of the house to season then I'll be the the one who eventually chops it. All I can say is be careful what you wish for you just might get it. Sound advice from me to your readers a seventy one year old Nana.
@@KathThomas-wf2tc Thanks Kath - don't over to things, I did my back in chopping logs when we lived there before, but I was a bit younger than I am now lol. Good luck with your renovations.
Actually Welsh village Dad they are sharing their journey not their financial situation I’m in New Zealand and love to see the Chanel You won’t find out so settle down
Hi it sounds big Looking forward to watching progress My home is 50 sq mtr plus a conservatory which is now home to my craft items desks etc I’m so happy here in Te Puke which is The Kiwi Fruit Capital of the World It’s a small rural town servicing Kiwi Fruit Industries plus Farming It is so close to Tauranga now with the growth of Tauranga and interesting it is only 5 more minutes to Andrée from my last place in Papamoa which is part of Tauranga City Crazy growth Looking forward to seeing your adventures Hugs
I know you said you won't reveal the property price . I just wonder if you think you got it too cheap or overpaid. Most You-tubers are happy to share . It's ok to be different though but expect less views.
Hi again, to answer your question, comparing the prices of various properties in the area we bought, we think we got it for a fair price for the size of the property/land and the condition of the house. We don't think we paid too much and definitely didn't get it too cheap. Our Bulgarian builder said we got it at the right price. We may at some stage disclose the price once we have renovated it.
@@NewBulgarians Surely no one cares how much money you have. But A starting figure before renovations helps.
That’s their business

Properly is looking interesting. How big is it.
Hi Anne, the property including the house, barn, garage and summer kitchen have a total floor area of approx 300 m2 - with the house over 2 floors so will be a bit bigger than that in total.
get animals in this barn,to make lukanka, pusturma, sudjuk, eggs, milk, from milk make butter, cheese and bulgarian yogurt, just clear and desinfect and be self selteficient,as bulgarians, before fall of bloody comunism hihihi
Thanks! We're unsure what we will do with the barns yet, but we plan to grow and preserve things.
The spanking paddle is indeed for the bread/pizza oven 😅 I'm looking for one for a long time now 😁
Haha - thank you for confirmation that we can't use it as a spanking paddle! We can't wait to make pizza!
Amazing birds Bulgaria💞💞
Thank you for your comment, yes the birds and nature as a whole is really amazing in Bulgaria.
How much ?
Hi - sorry how much for what?
@@NewBulgarians The house .
@@WelshVilliageDad Were not revealing what we paid but we paid more than we were anticipating having bought cheap run down properties in BG previously. As we wanted to be close to Stara Zagora and having looked at what was on offer we feel that this property is worth what we paid as is actually liveable, and in comparison to some on offer is a pretty good bargain.
Hi. It was funny. Darren suddenly appeared in my house 😂❤
So just very friendly advice - if you keep it real it'll be much cheaper & faster to fix it. That's a fixer-upper not a new project. In USA we only renew & fix we don't rebuild. The best way in BG would've been to get old house with huge lot then fix it & rent it as a summer house for vacation weekends & to build for yourself a one store few rooms brick & mortar (i would personally preffer stone masonry with inside insulation but there are no more stonecutters any more in BG. Ytong is usefull too) deep underground basement underneath them with tall attic - faster cheaper effective efficient.
Thanks so much for your comment. We are looking forward to making it our home and improving it as we have done on three other properties in the past in Bulgaria.
The kitchen the bathroom & the living room are always on the 1st floor for reasons sometimes even bedroom. No old Bulgarian home would have them on 2nd floor no Bulgarian would build them upstairs unless is a huge or a new project for alot of €€ & build for 2 families like parents & kids.
We can't wait to make our home the way we want it, fix, renovate and improve we hope. 😀
@NewBulgarians of course is your home time and money you can always do it in the english way. General Milne also tried 1918 in WW1 in Lake Doiran the Macedonian front you know the rest!😄
That room you've chosen for the kitchen will be such a great space!
Yes, we think it will be, hopefully anyway lol.
Hi you two. Great to see you and your home
Hi to you Anne, glad you're watching :)
No banks no eternal mortgages & rents! Now welcome to the free world an absolute Bulgarian freedom where anything is possible but slow pace relaxation carelessness only involved.
We are very much looking forward to it.
And the old owners of the house sold it so they can put down payment for a new home in France Spain or England.
The previous owner is happily living in another part of Bulgaria 😊
Being cynical is never the way to be-unless you enjoy frowning so much you want it to be your permanent look!
@climate-civilizations what so cynical about selling home in Bulgaria and buying one in Italia thousands of Bulgarians did it
Couldn't keep up, but looks promising . X
Hello Patricia - sorry to hear you couldn't keep up, was that due to the filming, Darren speaking too fast? We want to improve so appreciate all constructive feedback. Thank you 😊 we are very happy with the house so far but looks forward to putting our stamp on it.
Hi again, think everything was bit fast, but I'm sure I'll enjoy whatever. Take your time, we all.looking forward to your new adventure. Love from Spain ❤️
@@patriciapadgett4696 Thanks that's good to know. Unfortunately, we have already made the next load of videos from our last visit and can't wait to share, but will be sure to slow things down in future. Thanks once again for your encouragement. 🙂
You need a stabiliser on the camera and to avoid sweeping shots at speed. I felt giddy during the first minute, tried to stick with it but could not. All feedback is good feedback.
We agree with you Noddy - thanks, and sorry you weren't able to stick with it 😢 We're unsure what to buy but will look into it.
The tropical wall has to stay ! It's very Bulgarian !
An internal staircase, posh
Haha, yes it's quite unusual isn't it.
True
Can you show us the castles the tombs the museums the archeological sites the churches the monasteries the Rose valley the wine countryside?
When we live in Bulgaria permanently we will visit many places and will try to capture what we experience and see for our channel yes. 😃
@NewBulgarians but rush cause alot of Bulgarian families in shock & awe in USA are moving back to BG & the property market will go up even though they're coming with no money from USA.
