JOIN ME IN MY WORKSHOP
Unlike flashy celebrity-driven course platforms with pre-recorded video playlists where you don’t get direct access to the creator, I open up my workshop, software, notebooks and more to show you exactly how it’s done - step-by-step, LIVE, and in real-time - so you can create alongside me and chat during and in between live streams.
I’m a life-long STEAM enthusiast and maker with a passion for telling stories through my hands. It was through teaching and building projects on KZread that I was discovered by Motor Trend and Science Channel (Discovery) to appear as a STEM educator and on-air expert on programs like All Girls Garage and Strange Evidence.
I enjoy working on everything from art and workshop projects to electronics and technology. As a result, I’m able to connect with audiences in an authentic and relatable manner through personal stories, lessons learned and practical tips and advice not found on any script.

Is there a recommended gage if wire to be using for this?
Excellent video, so glad I found this. I tried to use a wiper motor last year but got frustrated and gave up, glad I am getting a head start this year. this video is going to help get me there.
good ideas, big fan of make the joints removable future changes.
Is there a limit to the length of the strip that can be controlled by a single Arduino? Can i circle my whole house with a single strip controlled by one device?
!digitalRead is a nice touch
I like plastidipping it to base color it. That works for me and thickens it up a bit
Is there any way to seal the paint after it's all finished?
Clear plastidip.
@dantheman8441 Thank you. Does it dry matte, or does it add a gloss?

Thankyou darling: this the first time I've heard about Timer1. Many examples call to timer1 when there's no evidence where it came from. Obviously, it was in the library file, but I didn't know why everyone uses TimerOne the file name, but the code is calling Timer1. It must be imbedded in the library, but it wasn't obvious to me. First I heard about 3 timers also.
OKAY!!!!...You like Halloween, and you're covering my favorite band.... You have won my heart
For more powerful dc motors check out RV electric slide out motors on line with amazon rv parts.
can i ask wht is the servo library
Miss ... That is a MALE CONNECTOR ~ russ
I have learned so much from this one video that will be useful for all kinds of projects. I can imagine limit switches that would be inputs to the Arduino so as the “spider” reaches an extreme, the switch tells the Arduino to do something like, stop or set a variable, or reverse. Thank you!
Thanks for this tutorial! just wondering, you say to add a capacitor for larger projects - when would you say a project becomes larger? 😆
What switcher do you use - I have GoPro cams or should I invest In another system
Good job 👍
you're a badass, thanks for the video
why do you always keep referring to inanimate things as "he"?
Fantastic video, very well explained. I love the way you teach by doing the things along. Next level = include interruption for a certain period of time with a trigger within a function while permitting other tasks to continue, then resume the interrupted task.
Excelente canal 😄👍
You're such a gorgeous nerd ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Write basic code. Paste into chat gpt. Tell it specifically what you what. Done.
You seem really knowledgeable about this stuff maybe you can help me with a project that I'm trying to figure out. I'm trying to set up a display where three witches perform the scene from Macbeth. Each witch would need to speak her lines in turn and then all three of them speaking the communal lines. I know I will need servo motors for the jaw movement and head movement but how do I sync everything together in a performance?
please answer me Rachel
Really good tutorial, so easy to follow and understand thanks for sharing.
Good work, and please do real time project using rain drop sensor with 12 volt wiper motor controlled by arduino uno and L298N motor driver. Thank you for all of your previous works.
Awesome tutorial. Really great how you've broken down each section.
This is a great tutorial :)
I mean this with sincerity, your channel is shockingly underrated.. I learned so much in this one video! Thank you! Subbed
As a complete noob to Arduino, I was able to get this project working pretty easily. Thank you for the clear plans and directions. I would love to install this in a prop I made but as it is using a breadboard it has very loose connections and the wiring is a mess. Could you make a video on how to make this for a more permanant install maybe using a nano or othe rmeans to be able to solder it together and make it more compact?
Such an informative and easy to watch channel! Love it! Thanks for sharing!
Our company would like to cooperate with you in video, if you are interested, please contact me.
You, madam, earned a subscription from an arduino beginner. Very nicely explained, so that everyone can understand what you're doing. Good job.
I appreciate ALL of your work. I am watching and learning from each video. Thank You. If you take suggestions: 1. How to sum colors represented from camera image and then allow most prevalent color to dictate LED strip color. 2. Allow IR remote to toggle LED color or change variable value in program code. A simple toggle is enough - do not need to decipher actual key codes...
Can I use a 9v battery with 4 white 5mm led diode?
One of the best videos I’ve seen on this topic with the demo..👍👍
Hi Rachel. Great video and love your gripping enthusiasm to teach your passion to others. I'm a developer myself. Been wanting to get into Arduinos and electronics and also drag my daughter along the ride. I think we'll enjoy the ride much more with your videos 🙂
I’m new to this whole things.. and I think you now got me hooked. Love your teaching style. I would love to see a similar video that adds some kind of force-sensitive resistor sensor. To many the motor stop if it hit some kind of object. Thank Rachel
I love you, i never watch a video on youtube for 50 mins, max 20 mins, but your videos are so fun and i really really like them, you deserve my sub and like.
Thank you for the great video! I have one question: What if I want the 3-second sound to repeat if motion is still present? Meaning, that if a person stays for longer than a few seconds the same sound loops. Right now, I see the option sensor is detecting that motion is still present, but the MP3 player automatically turns off after the 3 seconds of the sound bite as played.

As a retired technology teacher, I am in awe of your ability to make progressive changes in your presentation, while making everything completely understandable. You have a special gift.
Hi, so i ordered like 2 packs of 50pc. 3mm red defused leds i am trying to connect 6 of them together but they all wanna flash at separate rates, what do i need to do in order to make them all flash at the same time ? Im doing a 3 on row front and back. 6 total.
I know my comment is very basic...but this is not my area. I am building a plasma cutting table. I am at the stage of wiring. There are 3 stepper motors. There is a 24 v power supply. There are 3 stepper motor drivers. 1 arduino, and switch. I asked the designer what gauge wire they used to wire the box. They told me 18 ga. So I tried to locate 18 ga. jumper wires, to no avail. I bought male / female pins to make my own. The pi s are so tiny, though , I can't see how I can attach them. I asked a guy who repairs computers etc if 18 ga. wire is actually necessary. He said he didn't feel it was necessary to go any larger than 24 ga. as that is typically used on arduino devices. If this is enough information, do YOU think 24 ga. is sufficiently large for this application. Thanks in advance for your time and expertise.
That's nice ❤
Hey this is great. Fantastic domain knowledge about electronics, et al and polished TV skills to make an engaging, appealing, and well-paced presentation is a killer combination of skill sets. It's so easy to make this stuff too dry, or too goofy, or patronizing, or whatever. It seems to me a lot better than it used to be, but used to feel impossible to casually learn about this stuff from someone who wasn't dead set on coming across like a punitive, lecturing grandfather, and I'll bet that turned a lot of people off. (Definitely pushed me away from amateur radio when I was a teen, that's for sure.) So often in tech stuff, the people that get all the recognition are the ones pushing the bleeding edge of the field. Sure, that's important, but I think people giving an impassioned introduction to the basics have a much bigger impact on the world on a whole. Thank you for what you do!
Hello there, I was just wondering if we can assign other pins appart from 2 and 3 in arduino uno for interrupt, if we are using digitalpintointerrupt function?
Do u have a video on how to hook up filaments??
This is amazing thank you for explaining the different ways and what u need I have watched a bunch of videos and they don’t explain them very good .. so awesome job !!!!
So sorry you have to be over the top in narration. Good material, no doubt, but ... Can't people just *_//talk//_* anymore?
