Thank you. I am making a short film and was needing a movable cannon mounted on top of a car for a scene. It needs to be able to move around and then park facing straight forward. I can’t see the cannon from inside the car, so the park feature is perfect! You are a gifted teacher, I subscribed to you.

Excellent. The best video on KZread for understanding wiper motors and applying them for the many alternative applications, without an electrical engineering degree.

Just found your channel. It came up in my feed when looking for wiper motor information. Love your presentation, antics, and a very simple explanation to how a wiper motor works/functions without getting into all the technical jargon. Very entertaining🤣😀 You explained it much better than most of the automotive guys out there 👍who attempts to explain it by using wiring diagrams and more technical terms to where non-technical people would not understand. I do understand what they are talking about because I do have a similar background. Awesome job. I look forward to binge watching some more of your videos. New subscriber here👍😎😀

Have you tried using just the yellow and green wires for power? If you put the green wire on plus 12 volts and the yellow wire on your ground, it'll spin clockwise. Reverse it for counterclockwise. Oh yeah, it'll go a whole lot faster.

Enjoyed the video. You're pretty, so that immediately gives a 'click' advantage, but most important, you're an excellent teacher! When you tell someone 'do this' and it 'does that' it's a lot harder to retain the information. You do a great job of putting things into perspective, and this truly helps to process and understand the how/why and how to actually apply it's use. Most of it is irrelevant to my needs, but I watched the whole thing because your personality sparkles

Great video Rachel, you are beautiful as always. I haven't thought about using wiper motors in a while. Such uses as space ship orbiting, ferris wheel, merrygoround etc.., all depending on size n scale. The use of the speed control is a winner. I used to always, as you shown, regulate the speed with voltage.

Glad I found you as most others actually wiring things for cars, not what I'm after! I have 2 wiper motors that I'm currently trying to get to work, so I'll take your advice and see if i can get my dancing santa to work, for starters. I have a speed controller with a switch already attached. Of course it came from China so no tech specs or instructions!! Thanks for clearing that up mostly. I am wanting to power mine with a 12V battery though. Should I change to maybe a 6V one?? Only 1 speed controller and 2 motors. Of course they are from a hyundai accent, my mum trashed her last car after letting her licence lapse, so I raided it for parts before it was collected by wreckers. One is main wiper motor with 5 completely random wires, the other is the rear hatch wiper motor and only has 4 wires, i assume 1 is still park, so I gather it will only offer 1 speed option. Any guess or insight much appreciated. I subscribed already 😊

I imagine you want a longer arm. Unscrew the arm that your motor came with and bolt a piece of aluminum flat bar to the length of your choosing in its place. You can find aluminum flat stock at your local hardware/home improvement store. Let me know how you make out!

but.. and there is always but: using an electronic circuit to control a torque motor with heavy duty uses is not useful: coz passing thru low voltage to reach the requested speed at an specific voltage which is unreadable in fact, this can damage the motor and even the electronic card... we already know that the operating voltage is 12V SO, A knob switch and a relay are still the best to handle such system " in cars " anyways: u r a brave woman .. 👍

"The longer the arm, the less torque it's going to have"? More correctly stated - The longer the arm, the less force you will have at the radius. Torque is always the same value. It's pounds at inches or inch-pounds
