Giant Storage System for Small Spaces - Part 1

Ғылым және технология

It's garage makeover time and I'm building my own custom wrap-around shop storage system! DIY garage shelving is great and easy to build but in the end you can still see the mess! In PART 1, I start with a large 3-unit cabinet with plenty of shelves using basic woodworking skills. This will eventually get doors to hide away my stuff.

A table saw is needed to get perfectly straight cuts for glueing. I have a portable circular saw.

Great to see your back with a new video. Looks like you need a bigger garage. I've also ran out of space.

Looks great! And so does the garage. Anyway, I am planning on changing our storage to something moveable instead of just resting on feet/base on the floor.

So true! It's always in the way so I have to keep moving it in and out of the shop. I need one of those little ladders that expand up but are compact.

@@willf5768 Funny you mention that! I almost did that for this project - seriously! I decided against it because I need the floor space. I might toy around with adding a detachable one that I can unhook and get out of the way. Now you have me thinking....

I'm getting ready to build some rough shelves for storing my inventory in bankers boxes. It always seems the thing I need to ship is 12 boxes down in the stack so I'm looking to fix that problem. I'm using 2x4s , 1x3 furring strips to support the 3/4 in plywood shelf panels. Should I invest in the pocket jig or would it be stronger to fasten straight in? I sell a lot of HBA items and the soaps and shampoo can get very heavy
