  This just makes me think of the old days long ago when life was peaceful easy & slower, I hear it most nights & it will even wake me up if I’ve dropped off before hand. It also reminds me of my older brother who passed away in 2021 I made him listen to it one night & he couldn’t get over how he’d never heard it before but could then never forget it. Lovely days gone by.

  Briefly started with radio 1. Radio 2 during my school years. Radio 5 in my 30s and now Radio 4 and world service in my 50s. Who would of thought!!!

  I have an evening playlist which includes 'Across the border ' by Linda Ronstadt and a morning playlist which consists solely of this wonderful medley, especially the counterpoint, which I play drinking my morning 'cuppa' in the conservatory. I hasten add that it's Normally later then when I used to listen to it on R4 just before 6 a.m. but I'm retired now. Beautifully stirring and patriotic music.

  I was born at home and my mum told me I popped out just as the Archers were starting on the BBC Light Programme at 6:45pm on Tuesday March 5th 1957. So it's the first music I ever heard.
