The tune is Aujourd hui"C'est Toi ' composed by Francis Lai. The BBC programme Panorama brought in this rather depressingly haunting theme to replace the much nicer piece of music, Sergei Rachmaninov's First Symphony Fourth Movement previously used in the programme. But THIS, miserable tune is forever associated with the Panorama programme and Rachmaninov's best piece used on Panorama, I think is largely forgotten.
