Zoe Pritchard

Zoe Pritchard

hi, i’m zoe 💕 welcome to my diary!

I’m a 27 year old from Montreal making videos about my REAL life. After quitting my management consulting "dream job", then being laid off from a startup job, I decided to take a chance and work for myself. I'm now mainly focused on KZread (my absolute passion) and side-hustle contracts in the copywriting and admin fields.

My videos centre around lifestyle, gentle productivity, mental health & personal wellness. My goal is to be open & honest ALWAYS and for my channel to be a fun, inspiring place where we can set goals and live our best lives together. I would love for you to subscribe 🤍

Hi, I’m new here but how come you chose to buy new rather than used and how is your rent so affordable in montreal!?

hii! its a used car, i just got it from a dealership :) and my rent is this price because I live in a one bedroom with my boyfriend and he owns the condo. So my rent goes to condo fees, internet, electricity etc

Make sure you check out EU261. Our flight from Europe to the US was 4+ hours delayed and we each filed the necessary forms with the airline and received 600 euros each in compensation. This should be in addition to your reimbursement from the airline for your flight. It did require multiple calls to the airline to check the status but it finally came through after our persistence. Totally worth it!

Have you tried the software You Need a Budget? It’s basically like digital cash envelopes but connects to your bank accounts. Highly recommend since you’re also a fan of envelope based budgeting!

Would you consider not paying rent in the months you are falling short? Have you and JS discussed how much JS has in his reserves and could cover in certain months? You are in a serious relationship and he has the mortgage covered whether or not you contribute to that.

  • @ZoePritchard

his mortgage payments are astronomical due to the super high interest rates in canada. my rent basically helps cover condo fees, wifi, electricity etc. all of which I use and benefit from. I dont really see my rent as going towards the mortgage honestly… that said if I were in a tight spot where I didnt have the $875 to give him, I know he would cover me 🩷

Don’t get mad, but, can I come over and organize your money before you cash stuff your envelopes?? As an ex-banker, I can’t stress enough how annoying it was when people would deposit money and the bills were all going in different directions!! 😡😡. We had to have our bills face up all in the same order/direction. To this day, it still drives me crazy! It’s such a little thing but it helps a lot and looks so much nicer!

This is such a weird comment 😂 organize your own money and let people handle their money however they want.

@@Whatwouldjimmybuffetdo. My teller used to say the same to me lol. I started organizing my bills and now I get what she was saying. It is also more appealing on video to see the bills all going in one direction, and our money is pretty! It takes a second to do so no need to be rude to her comment.

I don't think anyone would say to invest before paying off credit cards!! Low interest dept maybe, but if your credit card is charging 20%+ interest, responsible investing is likely not going to out perform that! Pay off high interest debt!!

look into APPR, EU 261 and the Montreal Convention to see if you are eligible for compensation due to the flight cancellation! I know some people also successfully sue the airlines in small claims court - the new flight they booked you on doesn’t sound like it aligns with a “reasonable route” as indicated by the CTA guidelines

Zoe, summer has been slow for a lot of industries other than travel. I work in healthcare sales and beginning in Q2 of the year things slowed down significantly. Once school is back in session (August/September here in the US), things usually pick back up!

Hi Zoe! Long time watcher but I don't think I've ever commented on a video, yet. Just wanted to share that I'm in the same boat for last month. I did NOT stick to any of my budgets, had to spend money for myself and my partner b/c he went on vacation the month prior and did not have money for himself the month of June, so I was paying for the both of us. It's been a roller coaster, but July is the month of redemption and keeping on track of my budget! My partner is paying me back as well so I can finally get my CCs back to 0 :) Love your videos and I hope we can continue keeping our shit together for the month of July lol.

Putting money in your investments before paying your credit card debt is actually terrible advice. It would only make sense if your investment returns were higher than your credit card interest which is unlikely. You're doing the right thing by paying off your credit cards first 🙂. Thanks for the video!

The Month of May was Brutal and even part of June. I made a rebound back into concentrating onto my finances after talking to a mentor/finance coach (who actually does videos on youtube as well). Using Monarch to Budget more automated and some manual work, but definitely helped. Do you use credit card points to travel or just save through a sinking fund?

I mean if you've moved out of ottawa and enjoyed other luxuries life provides you, of course you could say the not nicest things about ottawa but if you've lived here you whole life some of your options might not feel the best....our style not being the nicest or having the try, i try hard every day. The language and culture is inclusive I'm sorry if being called your boyfriends last name offends you... idk I was excited to watch this but about 11 mins in I was over it.... enjoy your stay at the most haunted hotel in ottawa...
