I kinda like Yukari as Reimu's "Mother" more than Kasen, partly because how Kasen tried to "fix" Reimu made me kinda uncomfortable, also it feels like a large part of her reason for actually getting close to Reimu was so she could use her to exterminate her arm, so I like the ending because it leaves their relationship ambiguos after Reimu finds out. Which is also why I hate the epilogue, because it just tries to act like Kasen using Reimu like that was just something that can be brushed over so they can go back to the good times. Yukari on the other hand, Yukari understands how Reimu works from the start and doesn't try to change her, if she does want her to learn anything or improve, she knows how to do that. She also supports Reimu without her knowing by giving her donations.

I saw the video for the first time and found out about Lotus Land Story. Installed a PC-98 emulator and got to the 3rd boss on my first attempt and got to hear the original without having to start from level 1. The song suits the game and I'll be finishing it. 🙂

Hi, I'm a brazillian Touhou Fan, and recently, I've been diagnosed with grade 2 autism. I've came back on this video. All I can say is: Thank you, people that are very close to me, said things like: "but you don't look autistic", "we need to cure this autism" and "God will cure your autism", but after watching this video again, I know that I'm not sick in the head, or something, I'm just different, and hope to people understand that I'm not inferior, just like Marisa understands and accepts Reimu. You made me feel way better. (Marisa's always been my favorite Touhou character, and now that I now she's that understandable with Reimu, I love her even more)

I really don't know anything about Touhou outside of some surface level stuff from fangames I've seen people play. But Bad Apple has always stood out to me. Even knowing nothing about the series, it's very beautifully and stylishly animated. It's just not the kind of thing you see every day. The song is beautiful, and the lyrics are heavy yet relatable to many. You really can get a feel for the personalities of all the characters even if you know nothing about the series, and the juxtaposition between their actions and the meaning of the lyrics really highlights oddly nostalgic memories of how these sorts of feelings were understood back in high school, and how you would often drown out your problems with the things you enjoy. It's the kind of thing that honestly makes me wish I could've grown up with the series, but maybe the animation means a little more *because* I'm an outsider.

I've seen several comments that say he's 50, but his mention of an extinct bird species and him not recognising the outside world probably puts him at like 200.

Another great video.Have you ever concidered covering the topic of wasted and ignored potential for characters?A example is joon and shion,all most every final boss has had a back story but those two just jumped in to the scene with no back story.They clearly have ties to the outside world with joon wearing designer cloths,suming a uber in her win animation and in 17.5 already knowing that oil is very valuable in the outside world.There are other many other examples and i would like to see you cover this topic some day.Thank you for providing us with amazeing touhou vids that educate us and make us happy.

@@aregularlunarian3908i made this comment because a saw the vid.I liked joon befor since 15.5 is my fav fighting game,what i find sad is that the twins dont have any actual back story like yuyuko,junko ect.I think that haveing a official manga done in the style of the sangetsusei ones where we follow the twins along with tenshi in thier day to day lives as we also learn about where they come from and how they ended up in gensokyo.Every ones all ways liked shion cause she is the obvious sad and "i would totaly do every thing in my power to help her" where as a lot of people just see joon as a brat that miss treats her sister.All im saying is that the twins are underused and they desurve more screan time in the manga

ZUN's probably drawing alot of these stories from his own personal experiences, with his family I feel like he's putting in some of his own social commentary and stories into this, and I find it wholesome and endearing ^u^ I also feel like Rinno is also kinda a godfather to marisa earlier on in the series, especially since marisa herself doesn't have a good parental figure. also... 6:20 LETS GOOO TOUHOU IS ANTI-CAPITALISTISMMM!!!!
