hi from Türkey (Türkiye) We do this for carp fish. We put semolina and trout bait powder in 18-20 mm, when we cook it for 1-2 minutes, it floats and we make it more round. It cannot be used in trout fishing because it dries out when not used immediately.

What if you don’t have cornmeal can you use corn bread mixing instead of cornmeal if you have corn bread mixing and will the power bait still work if you use cornbread flour mixing. Oh or can you just make it with out cornmeal because I don’t have cornmeal but I have cornbread flour mixing.
I'm sure it'll work with corn bread mix. But you can make it without the corn meal. Maybe just use a little extra garlic or whatever scent you'd like to use.

Say Hookset, it's Saturday February 18th, 2023. Should I head over to McSwain this fine morning? I have been fishing in between the dam and the falls for 40 some years now with consistent results but I don't know the lake at all. It's a coin toss between McSwain and the forebay and canals near Santa Nella this morning. Any thoughts? It would be a treat to meet you and work on some 12 oz curls at the lake some day.
Hey man, sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. I use to fish the forebay a lot and catch several fish but this last year has been really rough, that's why I usually stick with mcswain. I'd be down to meet up and do some fishing!!
They can be annoying but pole bells help eliminate as many gut hooks at night

I tried it, I don't think I put enough cork. Once a squeezed it on the hook it breaks the outer surface and it no longer floats. I'll try double the cork and see if that helps. Thanks for sharing your recipe.

Last time I was out there they said November 8th was the last time they stocked it. I asked the ranger when they were going to stock it again and they didn't know. I hope they do soon because fishing has been really slow there lately.
I was out there a few days ago and seen that they stocked it on December 7th with 1500 pounds.👍

Put a glow stick on the tip of your rods helps at night or rid tip bells they are awesome during the day and night hear any little bite good indercator I've found if I'm going to use rod holders best way to relax & fish
I use the glow sticks, the ones I had on that night were not very bright. As far as bells go in not a huge fan of those, I don't know what it is but bells drive me nuts, haha.

How did that reel stand up for you? Mine took a crap pretty quick.
It lasted about 5 months, the gears on the inside broke. Replaced it with a quality reel so hopefully the rod will last lol.
