Crusader clans are supposedly ones to field protos first... But clan Goliath Scorpion got its hands on technology, fending off Jaded Falcons. And that is something for Warden clan, who doesn't have serious enemies.

Love the nova cat since mech assault 2. Do wish they had a triple pulse lasers variant as running cooler is good. Its an omnimech so its not a difficult transition. Obviously its 3 more tons. So a ppc would have to go for a er laser I suppose? Or just simply loads of medium pulse/meds. There is a duel pulse variant that is solid its just the triple laser canon is iconic! Missle punch variant is hilarious and I take it in a hear beat to only fire missiles in short range brackets.

Kathrine/Katrina never had any legal claim to the throne of the Federated Suns. A holder of the Federated Suns throne is required to have served years in a front line military unit and Kathrine/Katrina never served in the military. Edit: Also Kathrine/Katrina had plans laid to have Arthur murdered but someone else, Word of Blake, if memory serves, used a bombing to make it look like Arthur was dead then kidnapped him before she gave the order to kill him.

The Free Rasalhague Republic (before 3050 - that is, before it stopped being free or much of a republic). On the other hand, the "creation" or "recreation" as it were, of the Free Rasalhague Republic was a COMSTAR plot to CHEAT in the upcoming renewal of the Fourth Succession War. ComStar KNEW Hanse Davion and his Federated Commonwealth hoped to steamroll the True Enemy of All Free People in the Inner Sphere (House Kurita and the Draconis Combine) the same way they had steamrolled the Epitome of All Backstabbery in Human History (i.e. House Liao). ComStar did not want ANY of the great houses to restore the Star League unless they were all willingly, humbly, subserviently bowing at ComStar's feet. But Hanse and Melissa Davion were threatening to actually bring actual peace to the Inner Sphere finally neutering ComStar's favorite catspaw (the Draconis Combine, that they had manipulated into starting both the Second and Third Succession Wars). So they came up with a plan to help the Combine CHEAT in what became the War of 3039. They gave the Combine free (losstech) mechs and engineered the creation of a buffer state between the old Lyran/Combine border so the Federated Commonwealth couldn't attack the Combine from both sides at once. And, or course, they made sure all Davion communications over ComStar's network of HPGs were given to Takashi Kurita as fast as they could transmit them.

Ahh, the early years of Battletech. Back when we were marveling at the tales of the Black Widows and the Grey Death Legion. Victor made the best decisions possible for the fed commonwealth. It seems his mother made the most mistakes. I would only clarify that the combine manipulated victor since outreach, and that the entire original storyline is actually a romance between Isis and victor as they have parallel paths, both fighting for peace and justice.

The Argo is no dropship, it’s an underwhelming warship. I hate aerodyne drop ships, they are expensive and less capable. As for mech carriers, the Union is the most reasonable. BattleMechs are to valuable to place them all in an Overlord.

I mean, you can just chalk it all up to their incredibly moronic culture. Like the majority of the mistakes they made were because of arrogance and honor. They gambled the entire invasion, which they were winning, on the field of a single planet because of comstar's batchall. They could have continued to steamroll the inner sphere forces, but instead they threw it away because of their honor. And then their hubris delivered the final blow on tukayyid where the comguards took advantage of their disposition and goaded them into traps. So dumb

I'd like to point out that Peter Sundholm winning with a Wolf Deck wasn't really an out of nowhere thing. He was just one of many who had hopped on the "Fast Clan" metagame as the game had grown to revolve around fast mechs and, at that point in time, majority of the most effective fast mechs were clan ones like Dasher Ds or Fenris Primes.
