So something a beginner might want to know for Warhammer is that tournament play is edition specific so you have to pay that cost every few years. I know Magic has rules about which cards are legal for tournaments as well. Battletech you can use any version of a mini in tournament play be it 30 years old or last years version. Just think addressing long term costs might help inform a new player as well.

Not only is Bolt Action expensive the rules are actually really, really bad. Some of that has been fixed with 2nd edition but they were unforced errors.

Bolt Action, comes in 28mm scale, but it's 28mm heroic scale so big feet hands and heads.

Also the tanks are out of scale to the infantry models. Those are 1/56 scale if I recall correctly.
