When I first saw the archer I figured it was designed to be the lite version of an LRM boat, but it seems to have more going for it.

Though you forgot to mention that Jamie Wolf, the famous commander of Wolves Dragoons, Piloted a customized Archer until his death in the cockpit of his own machine, the same blue and gold archer would battle many of the great houses, and even be spared by the famous Menobu Tetsuhara, before taking part in the Battle Of Misery, the 4th succession Wars, and the Dragoon Civil War.
