Rerolling Inline

Rerolling Inline

Getting back into inline skating after 20+ years off. Turns out I love skating and I wish I never stopped. I've got plenty of time to get back into it though, and I'll be posting videos of my progress.

You should put a mask on the skates.

The fact you can skate while going up stares is crazy in my opinion but probably more experienced skaters can already do that

Same! Bladed in middle school, picked it back up in my late 30s during Covid. Have done mostly ice hockey with my kids since, but they also love skate parks and skating around the neighborhood.

So I just pulled out my 25-30 year old Rollerblade AeroBlades. I can't believe the plastic or wheels haven't cracked. Anyway, I tried the soul slide today for the first time. I was going pretty slow. I felt a little timid about my sliding skate sticking. I'm sure I'll get better. I have no idea the hardness of my current wheels. Do you think I might need new, harder wheels to learn this properly? I'm actually planning on buying new skates soon. Great videos! Thanks! P.S. I'm 68. 😉

Just put some skates back on after a very long time off them and I’d love to have long 😊Arya like this near me to go and skate, both alone and with the kids but the best a 2km loop of. Local park. It still works though

What roller skates would you recommend for someone who lives in a small country town with rough/bumpy chip and tar rodes? I prefer speed first, then comfort. When I say comfort, I mean less vibration. These skates will just be used to go up and down roads and sidewalks; no tricks or anything. Please give me a middle of the rode price for first recommendation and a budget recommendation. If it's the same model for both that's fine too. Thank you.

I am struggling so hard to do this for the first time. I'm on FR Street Invader wheels (84a) that came with the skates and part of me wants to believe they're too grippy for a beginner to learn to slide on, but the other part of me is blaming myself.

Which wheels are you using in this case? I use 80a and i find it very hard to slide. Is it possible with softer wheels or should i switch to harder wheels?

40YO man getting a rant on, so please bear with me, and share your feelings. with longer breaks, i went from mid 90s 55mm aggro skates and vert skating, (TG pro model, aka the ugliest skate ever, comfy AF), over variations of floppy, speedy 2000s 4x80mm softboots, to powerslide core next (3x) 100 recently in my late 30s, and i found my new home! sturdy as old stunt skates, despite wheels that make them as fast as a bike that trinity 3x100mm frame is short (no fear of wheel bite!!!), low and stable, an the laced hard boots provide great control and enough flex. and once the hard stock wheels break in to a bit of natural rocker, they get more spinny and slidy, and stupidly fun. (put on hyper 78A speed wheels for a more tame, quiet and smooth ride, if you just wanna cruise) there are better blades out there, if you need them, but those just absolutely hit the spot for me.

Awesome interview. I have so many 80mm and 110mm wheels I ended buying wizard frames from other brands but the endless are for sure nice frames. And yes, those other brands also use 6061 Aluminium. As a musician I can tell these frames all have this nice specific sound and is simply because they don't have weight relief holes so the walls can resonate freely from the vibration of the wheels on the floor transferred to them.

I have always been pretty active, roller skated my entire childhood until I left for the military in 1989. At 54, I just picked up inline skating after watching all of you inline skaters who put your videos on KZread/TikTok. I am used to doing my cardio in a gym but wanted to move that outside with something fun. It is exponentially more difficult to learn something like this at an older age, but I am trying to persevere.
