Ben was definitely sacrificed over the drugs in afl issue. Makes you laugh when you think of many of the “greats” in the 80s who played games off their heads on speed. Hawthorns great run in the 80s comes to mind. But it seems if the media wasn’t all over it the afl didn’t care. Drugs were huge in the 80s but nobody cared at the time. I hope Ben is doing ok. He’s such a damn likeable personality. Sometimes users can never beat addiction & maybe the damage done to the brain is irreversible making getting clean even harder. His thinking that he’s not hurting anyone is so typical. Firstly he’s hurting himself the most, and secondly the people that love him. Addiction is a bastard.

Its sad seeing Ben now, I know hes on the straight and narrow but he looks 60 years of age and his demeanor now is bizzare to say the least hes a real weirdo like Warwick Capper became later on..... And to think if he didnt do drugs he would've definitely been a dual brownlow medalist and if he didn't get caught he wouldve been the first five time Brownlow winner and wouldve singlehandedly took Sydney to a dozen consecutive Grand final wins coked out and meth'd up to the gills 😂😂🤣 YTB

All I can say is ,not once did my mates and i in our late teens early/mid 20s pull a phone out or recording device and start filming each other consuming drugs,it was unsaid rule/respect for one another that we never recording our wild night's..

I'll never forget what Akermanis said about him when he played on him, Aker said he came out in the second half and ran harder than the first half. So I'd say that their premiership needs to be questioned, because speed/meth gives you energy that you would not believe if you've never tried the drug. you can overcome pain, mental stresses etc and it gives the user a massively unfair advantage over players not on it, it turns you into Superman. Also he wasn't the only Eagles player using meth in the grand final and the years either side of that final. It should be wiped from the record books. The club knew he and others were doing it as well but they turned a blind eye because winning is all that matters. They knew well before it became public because the cops were telling the club, ordinary Joes who seen him and team mates smoking up big on the meth pipe, the club only became "concerned" when it became public knowledge, so they're just as guilty

Lmao I had team mates try this trick in junior football. They were talented players but it didn't have the effect they thought it would accuracy off the foot and hand went out the window couldn't take a mark sure they ran hard for one quarter then they were sluggish as fuck for the rest of the game

You cant play heavy sports on meth. Meth greatly increases your heart rate and sports increases it even further. Never do meth before or after gym.
