Hah. Both are fucking awesome. Its amazing how... tough Rugby League looks, but remember that when AFL was for blokes who would could take a few hits. But you gotta love both. Soccer isn't bad too but I hate it how they milk fouls.

There is a man called Mike Pyke playing for the Sydney Swans who originally played for Canada in the 2008 world cup. He was well known for his 80 metre try against the All Blacks. And their are countless other AFL players who could play NRL.

yes, 5.8 mil this year 4.4 last year... but financial side shows that one sport is more entertaining than the other, which results in better sponsors and audience. And this relates to the game itself. lets be honest, i watch both codes, and rugby union.. League has got a long way to making there code more entertaining to a bigger audience. League doesn't require much skill, which is why afl saw the opportunity to recruit K. Hunt cause why waste his talent on such a boring football code?

Love both sports Im Victorian and AFL is my first love but the NRL footy show is 100X better than our footy show

Karmicheal Hunt lol, nah i'd say Brent Harvey in the half-back even at his current age lol. Buddy franklin maybe centre.. but these are just what i'm giving from the top of my head, there's probably others i've missed out on that would have a good run

i'm not saying i'm a NRL player, but for example, i was playing AFL in my prime times along with soccer and other sports (tennis, cricket etc.) and rugby league was the easiest game to pick up on. Just in my first game i broke the line twice which lead too tries, and this was in year 11 first team.. in afl and soccer, i had to work my way up from the bottom. K. Hunt is on a promotional contract, but he actually had the potential unlike folau who could only jump and sprint

you just completely changed what i said. I never said it "required better skills" to live up to the expectations of entertainment and revenue. I said they're getting more revenue and sponsor's because AFL involves more skill compared to league. And because they have the money and saw the potential for Hunt, they ended up recruiting him. Furthermore, explain why there are much smaller and much less enthusiastic crowds in league? Make sure you understand before you go criticising on my comments.

if you read one of my previous comments, i played all sports, rugby being the newest to my experience. and easiest to adapt too in my experience. Don't get me wrong, as i said before i enjoy both codes, however one is a "simpletons" sport and doesn't make as much money as the other. lol, "tough stuff mate!" .... oh, and why would an afl player bother to transfer just to prove wrong? so they can get paid less? sure, sounds like a good deal -__-

ive played rugby and the only good tackles they made where grass cutters.

ahhhhhh, but one IS inferior to the other, and that inferior one is NRL (example: average crowd nrl: 16-18000 afl: 33 000) (2nd example lol: nrl salary cap 4.4 mil... afl salary cap 8.7 mil)

and hunt left because of the money not because he was bored.. bored are you kidding me??? you are telling me afl provides the same adrenalin rush rugby or rugby league does?? Many sports world cups are shite and full of one sided mismatches and fabricated teams,but it's only Rugby League that seems to get the criticism . When was the last time a netball world cup didn t feature Aust v NZ final??And the 100+ scores in the WRC are all too common,and Sri Lanka beat Canada in the cricket world in just 3 overs so low was the Canadian total,so what do you make of these world cups??

Israel Folau quit AFL because he couldn't get a came in the shittest side of the competition. Proves how much more skill AFL takes, so by those means an AFL player would succeed very highly in NRL, seeing as it's a sport for simpletons.

brook What quite sure what you mean,But irelands sporting landscape is totally different to what you say basketball is only a minor sport in ireland and what we call football is hardly abit of its the most popular support in terms of attendance followed by another native game hurling(as tough as league) and close behind rugby soccer is of course popular,but where did you get basketball.

Don't flatter yourself, both footy shows are utter garbage. As for the 'real Australians' comment, I find that odd. Since Sydney and NSW people are always saying 'they don't think about Melbourne' and that's a rather strong opinion to have about people you 'don't think about'.

***** Sam Newman is not the host of the footy show, he's just one of the panellists. The actual hosts doing Vautin's role is Bec Maddern and James Brayshaw (or back then Garry Lyon). Neither of these shows are really hard hitting football programs, so Newman's always been there to basically wind people up.

boxing is heaps more entertaining in the patterson, ali and tyson days, mma is shit. Anyways, I don't care about that, all i'm saying is AFL has more skills and is more entertaining the rugby which is why they have larger revenue because people are willing to sponsor a code that attracts a bigger crowd.. If the league convert you recruit sucks, then it's not going to convert western Sydney people to AFL. It's going to turn them off. If you're going to pay a bloke a million bucks to cross over, get Billy Slater or someone similar.

AFL is so scrappy it's frustrating to watch the players just jostle with each other as they aren't allowed to actually hurt each other with big contact, so it just comes off as catty. Tried to get into it, stamina for the AFL athletes is amazing, but it's just meh to be honest, no real spectacle.

exact reason why I can't get into it. Its too scrappy, bunch of tall blokes trying to bend over awkwardly to pick up a ball. Definitely amazing athletes though.

Afl only has more crowd because afl is a australian sport, when you think of rugby you automatically think of kiwis/islanders, therefore thats why afl gets more crowd because it was made in a country 100 times bigger than nz not because of sponsors , afl doesnt require skill it mainly requires stamina

Wrong. Both Folau and Hunt did absolutely awful playing in the AFL. There are plenty of AFL players from NSW who grew up playing Rugby League alongside Australian Rules Football and were stars at both sports

@@mabiorcholappreciationpage None of them made even reserve grade in the NRL. They’re two different sports. If you’re a good athlete you can do well in the bush but I think you overestimate how easy it would be for an AFL player to make it in the NRL.
