Did you see Kekovich and Newman play, Sam Kekovich was a powerful player and Sam is one of Geelongs greats, so I'm not smoking anything and if you go through their stats you will find they were both very good players.....@@Andrew-gb4hj

I loved Sam's lamb tv ads. A pity he doesn't do them any more. I haven't seen one for a long time. Sam - 'When it comes to lamb, the italians have got it right, Lambrusco, Lambretta, Lamborghini!'; 'Eat more lamb, and rid Australia of unAustralianism!'. I hope Sam does more tv ads with his sardonic presentations. I enjoy them so much. One of the very few living Aussie legends.

This s a great interview with two great Aussie characters the likes of which are in a rarefied class. Vale the last bearable era of TV that was watchable when you two featured frequently. Keep these interviews coming. Real legends of an era being themselves which no longer exists on what was once known as Television. Wonderful

Sam and Sam. 1968 I was one three 18 yo footballers from Benalla, the year before I won the goal kicking (89) and the to one best and fairest, the third was runner up .My mum put me on the train, got to Arden St. I was overwhelmed, walked in and looked around, no one asked who I was .I wasn't a mummies boy but I felt to anxious and walked back to the railway station and went home,.very disappointed however I played for Benalla for awhile looking for a mining job. I still follow the Roo's.

Speaking of the VFL ZONES and Geelong was Murray Valley’s and would conduct clinics at all primary schools. With Shifter,Terry Bright most years! Still remember John Newman coming to Numurkah and was flat as a shit carters hat 😂Didn’t want to be there! Always wondered if it was a punishment from the club ??? Sam also refused to sign the only Geelong supporter’s kids jumper ! Not being rude or anything But said “You’re mother will try kill me for ruining it “ How times have changed. Sam also looked older in the 70’s than 30’yrs later! Well done Sam on looking after yourself and staying young! Wonder if he reads his own comments? Love you and miss you on tv Like Hey Hey ! Don’t give the people what we want Not one footy show that announces the teams Just three tools with the same 3 jokes every week drinking beer! Can you imagine if Sam ,Billy and Crawf sat down and drank piss on The Footy Show! Canceled after 1 show The Front Barf 🤢 gets Logies ???

1968, I was there, Keko got up and chased Newman all over the the ground after that, while the game continued at the other end of the ground. Barassi said he was the best NATURAL footballer he had seen. Kicked 10 goals in the first half at the lake oval and racked the cue.
