Just an old(ish) fool(ish) guy that still plays Robocraft ( and other games) casually from time to time. I originally started playing RC with my two sons back at the end of 2016 and started playing more frequently in 2017. I later became a little addicted to the game. I have multiple accounts, but decided to start a new one just to document some of my RC gaming experiences. I will also add gameplay of other games as time permits.

    Hey Pathforger! This is definitely a well put together game with pretty good depth for a fps. Since it's a rogue-lite each run is different. I suppose part of its charm is that you aren't playing against other people.( at least for me) Plus you can play with a friend, or in my case , my son. We've played a couple of rounds together and it was a blast. We plan on recording together in the future and either combining footage of it , or something like that. One of the main reasons I played RC was to play with my sons, but they lost interest early on due to it's mismanagement. I will probably add other games as well as I get the time. I will also break up the Roboquest runs into smaller chunks in the future for easier viewing time wise. Thanks for commenting my friend! I greatly appreciate it.

    Hi Pathforger! I have only had the time to make videos this week due to illness. Sick enough to not push myself physically when not working, bored enough that I wanted to do something semi productive. This match was one of several I played testing out the changes to plasma and mech leg jumping capabilities at the end of November last year during the Thanksgiving holidays.. It is unfortunate that there were as many ai's as there were, and they can be problematic for either team in any type of match including ba. The problem is that there is no "a(i)" in the word team. But seriously, having a healer is the only reason we won. The other team could have definitely coordinated themselves with their ais better and defeated us quickly. Either way it was still a lively match. I generally don't get to schedule a time to play, I just play when I can fit it in , and often I would rather be doing something else during those times. Thank you for your comment my friend. It's always appreciated!

    That was definitely an action packed match. I only played 2 matches that day. The first one I was trying out a new T 5 rail copter I had built . Unfortunately I was paired with 4 ais against a 4 man of farmers. I managed ok, but was stomped and my nerves ended up a little frayed. So I decided to use this mech in the second match, ( another new build) to have a larger health pool and because it's what I am most comfortable with. As far as my mouse setting being too sensitive, yeah, it definitely is 😂. I did recently change the dpi settings increments in my software, but I think I also played around with the settings in RC. My reaction time isn't what it use to be ( or thought it was) . Hopefully I will find a setting that can still track faster fliers and not be too sensitive. I also tended to rush my shots. Yeah, I was just trying to have some fun with the video and commentary. I figured it is probably best to do on shorter videos due to time constraints. Hi bruhbrehii5620! I'm glad you liked my video and like my mech. I have to admit that my building abilities are just so so. I know the basics of what they refer to as triforcing or damage routing and I do use it to a degree in my builds. I encourage you to check out a fellow robocrafter/ KZreadr by the name of TwoTone Terminus. He goes into depth about the damage mechanics of Robocraft and how you can route damage as well as use of damage sinks, split protection, and what they call tick delays. There is also a link to his channel on mine. If you still want to look at my mech afterwards ( I have modified it a little since the video), let me know. I don't usually share my builds, as I consider them primitive compared to what can be done. But I can make an exception .

    Another enjoyable match to watch. ^_^ When running plasma on a jumper bot, do not be afraid to jump before offloading one's shots. The elevated angle reduces the impact of inaccuracies as your steeper angle of attack is more likely to hit a target with the blast. Also, it is good to see that you eventually noticed that Flak isn't totally useless against ground. ^_^ A big win for balance right there. Thank you for sharing!

    Hi Pathforger! Yeah, between not playing that much and not wanting to get caught out in the open on that particular map, I was playing rather reserved. The higher angles definitely help when using plasma. This match also took place a little while before the whuthehay and the mehk video where I did a little better. I suppose I will get better with time if I play more ,but I doubt I will get back to where I use to be in 2019. Thank you for your comment and advice!

    Hi Pathforger! First of all, I don't really consider you to be salty. To me there is a difference between a person who cares enough to encourage / direct others in a match and those who taunt verbally or otherwise , brag, name call, ect. use abusive speech during a match. When we get frustrated (and it's not hard to do in Robocraft), I call that venting. We all do that. As far as the rest, I suppose I'm just tired. I have been listening to the kind wisdom and encouragement given to me, and pacing myself. That's why I take breaks both from RC and KZread.( And sometimes life gives me no choice) But I do still find joy in playing RC occasionally and definitely in editing the videos. It's kinda therapeutic. Thank you for all your kind encouragement, wisdom, and support. It's always appreciated!

    Stopping playing Robocraft is totally understandable. The game has been deteriorating over time, and recent patches haven't really helped that much. Next patch won't be directly buffing any mech leg stats, but due to some rudder changes (much higher base speed) mechs could potentially become a bit more useful with a specific setup. I'll experiment with it and share it if it works once the patch happens.

    That was a nice match shared, thank you. ^_^ It was especially good to see flak performing much more as it 'should' be versus ground - having enough bite against ground to be serviceable as a self-defense or fall-back weapon -although the plasmas were undoubtedly the better choice in most circumstances where it was used for such. Great for reliable tagging , less so for DPS. ^_^ Well played and good video. The AI-diff is noted but still fun to watch!

  • @noodlebiscuit77

    Hi Pathforger! I did primarily use this bot to test out ranked up T4 flak. In this case, it was primarily against ground bots. I did expect this match to go differently. Decent players along with murder bots usually do well. Our team covered each other well. It also helped having air support. If they had had flak, or a good loml flyer, it would have gone differently. Robocraft is a team game. And while being a good player has it's own merit, it doesn't mean as much as having decent teammates that will cover each other. As far as flak, well it's still just meh against ground ( but that's what I would expect) and still not as good against air as it use to be, but better than it was after they broke it. They still have dumbed it down too much and turned it into a no skill rapid fire weapon. I'll need to do more testing and probably switch to t5 flak. Thank you for the comment and glad you liked the video!

  • @PathForger_

    Hey there @@noodlebiscuit77 ^_^ That is a fair assessment of the situation. Even though the Red team had a disadvantage in the form of an additional feeder AI, they were quite fierce and supported their AIs to the best of their ability. It was certainly possible to have overturned the advantage against your team had they not been mostly on the ball. I have heard that flak's anti-air isn't working as well as it should - and that we may be seeing a full revert in projectile speed to before it was super-accelerated. So we may see flak's anti-air effectiveness being improved further. And yes, the damage cap on flaks is less than it was before - but it also deals more damage sooner - making it more effective against short exposure flyers. I am actually quite happy with flak's anti-ground capabilities (which is more evident with T5 flaks) as I've been requesting this for a very long time. At this point it is actually 'viable' to play a pure flak bot in Tier 5 by my reckoning - and I'm all for it! ^_^ Still probably more optimal to pair it with an anti-ground weapon, of course. ^_^

    That was a treat to watch! ^_^ I also found new appreciation for the structure of the mech itself. The white exterior over a grey interior actually works nicely to represent damage taken - and the central ridge also adds an aerospace aesthetic. Well played (the slip-up at Far was fairly minor). I especially liked the hop over the wall near Mid around the mid-point of the video. ^_^ Thank you for sharing!

    Hi Pathforger! I'm glad you enjoyed the video. This is the same body I have in many of my current sprinter builds. All of them have different tweaks and changes. This one has several as I had to change it to use mech legs. The ridge is for both aesthetics and extra structural support . I also added a second layer of struts down the center just to see what it would do. I will probably tweak it more. I desperately need to build some new bots but haven't had the time to do so and my desire to play Robocraft has been dwindling. I am liking the extra mobility this mech is demonstrating with the added thrusters and props. I will probably make both a light sprinter and light mech in the future just to see the differences in speed, jumping ability , and agility after this last patch. Thanks for your comment and support. It's much appreciated!

That is a challenge that I've been tempted to approach - trying to prove that true sprinters aren't totally dead - but I'll need to scrounge time to do that and it probably wouldn't be soon (besides I don't really feel like it right now as there are a good selection of non-screwed-over movement parts that one can play instead). ^_^; Oh, and do what feels right at any point in time. The only thing I would suggest is to make them shorter like your last one. People have a short attention span nowadays, and /or limited time. I've had literal AI matches in a party of two before. Robocraft is a lot more fun in a duo (and in my opinion it doesn't damage the matchmaking enough to be considered farming). In some clans they do queuesyncs (Where two parties of 3 or more enter the queue at the same time to try to match each other, or at least members enter queue simultaneously) and those usually result in some pretty good matches (though the voice chats are too chaotic to make a video out of). The clan to do so most frequently is NYA, so usually if you see a big NYA party against a normal team it's a queuesync fail. Also, tip for the AIs, they will chase you in a straight line if you back up slowly, so you can drag them around or keep them busy. This is especially easy with a disc shield module since they don't know it's there, and will just shoot into the shield and waste their time.

  • @noodlebiscuit77
    @noodlebiscuit77 Жыл бұрын

    Hey Keleksos! Yeah it definitely is more fun to play in a two person party. I do occasionally platoon with my son. I personally see nothing wrong with platooning in a 2 man. I used to belong to House Baratheon several years ago. I would platoon with several of my clan mates/ friends semi regularly. I am familiar with q syncing as we tried to do that a few times when I was still there. I have even "farmed" before (back in 2019.) Didn't like it , and that is one of the reasons I started playing alts. Playing as a random to try to help newer players against the "farmers". ( And I wanted the non premium account experience to see what it took to rank up. ) Well, some of the farmers have gotten a little better, and I really haven't. Getting too busy and too old I suppose. I try to leave the politics in the past now as there really is no point to it anymore. Thank you for keeping me informed and I appreciate the info on the ais. Some bots lend themselves well to capturing the points. However it is 'very' rare that a player has a valid reason as to why they don't manage a reasonable (approaching and beyond 1K) score in objectives. An inclination to cap is often more important than how fast the bot is. And most AIs (especially medics) are inclined to cap. ^_~ 3K is a 'very' good objectives score - but usually means that the team is having trouble holding points.

    I found the plasma projectile speed buff to be very noticeable, did you? Plasma being sorta overpowered right now (melting most of a not-super-tanky robot in 5 seconds with weapon energy module) and flak being a mess is causing me hell with my ground robots. If there's someone with a decent plasma plane my robot simply cannot exist in front of them. And also, fun fact, literally every single stat on tier 4 plasma is better than tier 5 plasma. Damage per energy, DPS, total damage per energy bar, mass, health per CPU, and rate of fire are all significantly better on t4 plasma than t5.

  • @noodlebiscuit77
    @noodlebiscuit77 Жыл бұрын

    Hi Keleksos! I definitely agree with you about the plasma buff. Although t4'and t5 plasma has become more viable for ground bots now, they have given flyers the advantage once again. Flak use to be able to control flyers at a decent range. Now it's preferable to use rail or smg. And while they may work against a flyer, they are not as effective against multiple flyers or as you said, 1 good flyer/ player. I did hear that t4 plasmas were better than T 5's. I actually have plenty of T4 bots on my older accounts to test that. Many of them are T 4 flak plasma but I do have several with rail. Maybe my next mech will be a T4 rail/ plasma.
