This looks like a solid enough mech and that looks like a solid enough match. ^_^ I see that mesh of heavies and heliums! ^_~ Looks like you mostly went for 1:1 split on the heliums -which actually is a little on the high side.(in theory you could end up floating (each helium cancelling approximately 145kg in addition to its own weight.) but it looks like it served you well. If (after making a copy) you do cut down for heavies I'd suggest doing so on the flanks and leaving the center saturated. Well played and thank you for sharing!

Hi Pathforger! I honestly only have the helium on the outside layer as it was getting late and I just wanted to add a little more health. I really don't like the interaction of helium with forward/ upward jumping momentum. Doesn't seem to affect jumping backwards (that much)oddly enough. As for the match, I'm glad it ended up being more even than I had anticipated. Thank you for your comment and advice. If I decide to add more heliums, I will definitely give your suggestions a try. Having the helium mostly on the outside makes it more likely to get shot off, using its insane health and reducing the potentially-immobilizing lift for when you run out of heavy parts.

@@noodlebiscuit77 You are welcome - and apologies for the delay in response. ^_^ If the heliums are just applied externally then you are unlikely to run into problems with lift. ^_^ In that case I'd suggest shifting some of the flank heliums to the core to increase the effective health of the core. Channeling the electroplates through heliums is a good idea. And it's cool to exchange thoughts - like Keleksos has done. ^_^

Yeah, I had originally thought of encompassing a core of heavy cubes with helium/ heavy counter stacked on the outer 2 layers. But I was lazy and it was late. And as I mentioned I don't like the drag helium has. I prefer a balance of mobility and health.

No worries my friend. It has been so long since I originally built that mech, I would have to fully pull it apart to see what all I had done. I do plan on building a new mech soon from scratch and will be experimenting more. I enjoy the input from both Keleksos and yourself ( as well as others) Now I just need the time to build it. 😁

I found the plasma projectile speed buff to be very noticeable, did you? Plasma being sorta overpowered right now (melting most of a not-super-tanky robot in 5 seconds with weapon energy module) and flak being a mess is causing me hell with my ground robots. If there's someone with a decent plasma plane my robot simply cannot exist in front of them. And also, fun fact, literally every single stat on tier 4 plasma is better than tier 5 plasma. Damage per energy, DPS, total damage per energy bar, mass, health per CPU, and rate of fire are all significantly better on t4 plasma than t5.

Hi Keleksos! I definitely agree with you about the plasma buff. Although t4'and t5 plasma has become more viable for ground bots now, they have given flyers the advantage once again. Flak use to be able to control flyers at a decent range. Now it's preferable to use rail or smg. And while they may work against a flyer, they are not as effective against multiple flyers or as you said, 1 good flyer/ player. I did hear that t4 plasmas were better than T 5's. I actually have plenty of T4 bots on my older accounts to test that. Many of them are T 4 flak plasma but I do have several with rail. Maybe my next mech will be a T4 rail/ plasma.
