I've noticed that when I added a lil' pup into the mix (with my 11yr old Mastiff/Sheppard, at the time) he seemed to get young again... for a time... Now at 17 I know he's already exceeded his time and I cherrish every day with him... *The younger 6yr old is still full of energy... -& my 17yr old still goes running with us... well, honestly, not running anymore... it's more like a fast walk for him... -soooo, I take the 6yr old (Husky/bully) for his 2mile run & after that, I take both dogs for a 1mile cool down, fast walk... well, the 17yr old has a choice but does come most times... Then I take my 15yr old son for his 2mile run... he's in boxing tho so he has no choice, lmao...
My near 17 y.o. chihuahua is living better through chemistry. He can’t go under due to a bad heart. He gets tooth/mouth infections about once per year and antibiotics clear it up. His kidneys are going down hill, but his levels are great due to eating a renal support diet. We just go their pace.
