He looks happy and energetic, but it's nice that he could have anesthesia if it becomes necessary. Wishing good health to Sherpa. My old dog had some kind of recurring low-level infection; they decided the best course was antibiotic every few months; he did that for several years. BTW, dude. You are saying how really, really hot it is, but you are wearing a jacket? We peel down to tee shirts when it's hot. 😉

He is not an old dog! He is a dignified senior! This specialist was worth seeing, now you know a lot more about how to proceed.

Glad sherpa is ok and that your worrying can relax a bit ,fingers crossed that the infection doesn't come back in a few weeks so sherpa don't need to have the tooth out. 🙏 Thank you Jamie for the update on sherpas❤ health ❤

Sherpa is like me a glowing senior citizen. He is choosing how to glow. I love the visits with Sherpa, he makes my day brighter.

No he's not a old Dog, he it a Distinguished Senior Gentleman. Never ever say Sherpa is old until he gets to be starts showing his age. Glad everything is okay with his health.

That was good news that his tooth is good , his liver is doing well and he is all together a healthy, happy boy. We all love him so much he needs to stay that way.

Wise decision. We all have to remember that dog years, months, are different from ours. So a good half year, or more of infection free toofie, is a good stretch for any doggo.❤

You've taken such good care of Sherpa for his whole life that he is not old and decrepit, he's still active and playful. I'm sure the good news from the vets is such a relief!

Also I'll say a prayer to St Roch the patron saint of dogs ,also say a prayer to St Francis of Asisi the patron saint of all animals including dogs. Super happy for everything looking good for our Lord Sherpa!!! ❤ But that anesthesiologist saying she had no problem knocking him out sounded so violent 😧😬.

My vet called my 14-year-old cat a "teen." ❤ that!

So happy everything looks good. Sherpa looked so cute looking through the window in the door waiting for her to come back with some treats. Loved it when you held Sherpas bowl up so he could drink easier. Seeing how excited Sherpa was to get home was heart warming.💜💜💜

Great news Jamie! We can all let out a collective sigh of relief (I was worried about Sherpa too.) Keeping our fingers crossed that it doesn't come back in 2 weeks and you and Sherpa can spend the summer enjoying the shed and garden rather than worrying about seeing the doggo dentist.

So happy he can be sedated! You do not need to hesitate about pulling it! It can be painful before you can see swelling or foul smell but if it gets infected again he could have antibiotics and THEN you can have it pulled! Glad you went to this clinic!!! You are such a good dad!!❤☺

You can see how happy and excited Sherp is when you arrive back home. He absolutely loves being in his own garden and sleeping on the grass 🥰💖💕

I have to say the specialist's office is in a very nice place, even if nobody likes going to the doctor, right Sherpy? Aw how cute he is waiting and standing in front of the door, maybe there were a few treats on the other side. There is good news to hear that in the worst case scenario there is a possibility of letting Sherps sleep safely and bringing him back. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the inflammation doesn't come back in the next few months and that the worst case scenario occurs. Well good news then for Sherpa. Be sure and journal this so you can keep close track of the dates and Sherpa's pain levels. Instead of waiting for Sherpa to display discomfort, make a point of frequently checking his mouth, gums and teeth so you are familiar with his healthy mouth and can detect changes quickly. Make a game of it. Dogs are so stoic and will hide or try to disguise weakness from us. Please, your Sherpa is a very sweet sweet boy..

Sherps is a strong dog & with Dads help & love Sherps will beat the tooth inflammation. You don't need to go back to the specialist although it was in a beautiful location.
