    Nice commentary and review on this! I'm looking for a juniper berry-heavy fragrance to help evoke that "cooling" vibe without being HEAVILY juicy or citrusy in the opening. Personally i was looking at trying out this one, terre d'hermes eau givree, and zoologist penguin. I saw your eau givree video and have similar sentiments on performance when i sampled. In the beginning , they were performing rather poorly, but some months later they are very strong. I easily get 8-10 hours of longevity with 5-7 sprays. It is clean, soapy , elegant, citrusy and rosy. Much stronger than reflection man. The Halfeti Black rose is nice, soapy, smooth, masculine. Great for the evening. Signature scent worthy. I wore Lyric Man as my wedding scent eight years ago in July of 2016. As you say, it is unobstrusive, fresh almost, but also somewhat "romantic" and creamy. It does seem to have much better projection and staying power on me, though. Amouage's Rose Incense, surprisingly, I don't enjoy. It is too powdery and dry for my taste. For rose-incense combinations there are others I like more, such as Elixir by Penhaligons or Incense Rosé by Tauer. In general for rose fragrances, do you know some of Diptyque's offerings (such as Eau Rose or Eau Capitale) or LeLabo's Rose 31 and its smell-alikes (such as Much Ado about the Duke, 9 Arcana Rosa etc.)? How about Rose d'Arabie by Armani or No. 2 and No. 6 by Eutopie? All of these are some of my favorites.

  • @SeldomlyOften
    @SeldomlyOften23 сағат бұрын

    I don't find the Tauer very rose forward to be honest. Eau Capitale should be too similar to POAL? There are so many rose fragrances on the market, really hard to choose :)

  • @bjoern0975
    @bjoern097512 сағат бұрын

    @@SeldomlyOften About Tauer's Incense Rosé: you are right. It is not all that rose forward. From the name, the incense is more in the forefront. And there is also a hint of a gasoline-like note, which is more pronounced in Tauer's Lonesome Rider (discontinued), another favorite of mine. By Tauer, Rose Flash or Une Rose de Kandahar are a lot more rose forward. Well, Eau Capitale does combine rose, patchouli, and pepper - still I think it is sufficiently different from POAL. On the other hand, Eau Capitale is somewhat soapy, so in that sense similar to Lyric Man, and so you might not like it too much. Maybe neither the rose fragrances by Daphne Bugey (Rose 31 and the likes). Yes, too much choice. ;-)

I know you aren't familiar with the house so that may not impact you, but it was a bit disappointing for me because I wanted something very different than his other fragrances. I agree that Amouage Rose Incense is such a unique scent. I also love Tauer Incense Rose, which may sound similar in name, but is actually quite different. I don't know how much black rose he used, but George Zaharoff is one of those who prides himself on use of naturals. He even lists the locations where his ingredients were sourced. Portrait of a lady uses so much rose from naturals its really the pinnacle of rose forward fragrances. They used the most pungent roses and a lot of them. Also regarding Epic man, I think you had a bad patch or it was a fake if it was a sample. I had similar experience when I got a sample. Too weak and barely detectable. Then I watched Ramsy’s video on Epic and bought a bottle of Epic man. It is a totally different experience. Then I bought Epic woman which was a pleasant surprise. I like it soo much that I have a second bottle of each.

    This one is a bit like guidance, you think it's light but it really isn't. It took me a while understand Lyric Man.
