where can I buy a 4.4 termination. I can't find it anywhere
With b&w 703s3....model 30 or 40n???
I bought HD660S2 and S1 to test vs HD650, completely agree with the review. Subscribed!
Thanks for your support!
Which sounds better to you, Edition XS or 650?
Is it too bright/analytica/flat sounding? I listen to all kind of music and genres. But mostly electronic. 😃 Im not an basshead, but like deep and punching bass. And also musical and engaging sound. 😌
Nice presentation, subscribed. The initial lot got sold and I've backordered it, I've been told the ETA is end of July. Apparently these got sold off almost everywhere shortly post public availablity, can't wait to get mine and listen to these first hand.
Thanks for watching!
Nice these looks solid for the price from Meze.
Thanks for watching!!
May I know what is the brand of this headphone , and get from where. Price cost. From your comment which brand is more better for watching movies with music.
2 great headphones for sure, great review. Thanks!
This is a man of culture. He listened to El Dorado by ELO on this thing. 👍
Out of all the focal current line up which one's have the most bass?
I love your song selections....
I have a hard time understanding that anyone would want better headphones than the 800s, especially after using them with proper equipment, for me they are the end of the game.
Hello, I have the same model. I wonder if you can activate LDAC 990 in settings? Whenever the active returns to "best effort" I don't think it is limited by Sony being the same codec. I wonder if there is a solution?
Give Wayne a call at the store I shipped it back to them so I don't have it around to access.
This is a great review! Is there any built in surge or spike protection?
Did I miss something? You mentioned that the DAC in the node x was superior as blue sound claims. You then made several comparisons of sound quality but you didn't say whether you were using an external DAC or if you are using the internal DAC that comes with the Nodes. I have the n130 and use it with an external DAC. Therefore I'm curious to know how the streamers compare in sound quality as opposed to how the DACs compare. Thank you
Here are my thoughts. 1. Soundcap on European Models. 2. Its there for a reason. 3. Everyone i know except a few often women". Most other listen to such high volume its really bad for the hearing. When i listen to a phone with iems with 3.5 i never go above 60%. On my Cayin N3 Ultra i never go above 40% with iems, set to medium gain, and with Sennheiser S660S2 never above 50, and 50 is Loud 🔊 4. They handle Sennheiser S660S2 good, i have to go up to 100/120, and sometimes all the way, 2 steps down to 118 because it levels down the last2 clicks. All my IEMs it can handle with ease. But if you are going to run planars or something ridiculous, that is supposed to be run on a amplifier in the living room you are out of luck. When the tinnitus comes at the age of 37 or 49 or 61 you wont be that happy, and the hearingloss is so severe you become afraid. Hearing loss creeps up on you, and when you have it, its nothing you can do. Take care of your hearing. Its sad though that you cant run everything on them, but its a portable device ment to be on the go, you shouldn't have your living room headphones with you outside, or ridiculously high performance ohm resistor hungry gear on the go. But if you can be fine with focal Celestee or Sennheiser Ie 600 or moondrop Variation this is way to perfect. I never go above 90/120 with my Variations. As an example. And if you really want to. The European model is set to 70% instead of 100%. Download Xbooster and set it to 100%, but you will have to redo it when the warning comes up at times. Also dont go above 100% you will get distortions Second method First update ypur device firmware and software Go to settings~ volume control , there youll find multimedia Value to increase the volume, to avoid the European volume cap.
I have this Sony NW WM1AM2 and I am trying to connect to my Burson DAC with usb c audioquest cable and the audio does not pass ,what can it be ? I've changed wires setup and nothing
somehow i wish Sony could update its Android OS to the latest.. yes I know a DAP don't need much updates as a regular phone do but those streaming apps do need it especially for futureproofing, as Sony don't make new gens of these flagships as frequent as Chinese phone companies.
Excellent video with copious amounts of usable information. Any idea how she'd sound with HiFiMan HEK2 v2 w/o stealth magnets? Just dying to pull the trigger on this beautiful piece of kit! Thx from a Brooklyn Audiophile who has incidentally, just become your newest subscriber.
How to connect the SUB into I50? Thanks
Those selection knobs, volume, control etc. feel very cheap!
I returned mine, unfortunately the bass didn't meet my needs... if you don't use EQ meh... great comfort and design, nothing to complain about the mids and highs but the bass is very calm and without much presence and impact
If you don't get a proper seal on them, the bass will be lacking.
@@TheSourceAVDesignGroup My Fostex th-OO Ebony makes it embarrassing in the bass, but it's not a bad headphone, far from it, it's very comfortable and has a very pleasant sound and I love Sennheiser's sound signature however... I expected more from a closed headphone , but by applying EQ it gets more powerful and dynamic bass, but it's not worth $350, even my Shure 1540 has more dynamics than it, that's because it's a much older headphone and with a better sound stage too, if it cost 250 I'd be with him, but for 350 I'll pass.
Hello, I just want to use one earphone and don't want to be tired of switching devices all the time depending on the type of music. I listen to 80% classical and 20% jazz and pop. I I think I like mm500 very much, and I think the instrument part is quite good, and the vocals are in the front, so the female voice sounds good. Do you recommend other headphones at this level? I think the Sound Stage of the mm500 is ok. For classical music, the instrument is not too modified and artificial, the low-frequency dive is enough for jazz. I'm still looking for a sound I like, maybe you can give me some advice or other information.
Which stands are the ones with the charms?
Do I NEED amps and dacs to make these sound good, or are they plug and play?
You don't need, but I would still recommend it for the best sound quality.
@@TheSourceAVDesignGroup Is there any amp/dac combo that is small, portable and battery powered that will work well with these? Something like the fiio q11 maybe?
how they compare to Sony MDR Z1R / Focal Stellia / Fostex Th900 ?
They are very different sounding; the Stellia is still my favorite closed back headphones.
I fully agree on your opinion. I sold my sony xm5. Got the sennheisers being very happy with them. Best vocals go to B&W. I also prefer px7se to px8
🙌😎 thanks for watching!
My god maaaan you got me with that explanation. New subscriber here. 🙋🏻♂️ Would you please help me? Which one is louder Bathys or PX8? Greetings!
I am not sure about that. I don't have them in the house to compare anymore and honestly I don't ever listen above 80-85db. Thanks for watching!!! 😎🙌
Thanks for the excellent review. I'm considering the Meze 109 Pro paired with the Woo Audio WA7 Gen 3 for my desk setup. I have the Sennheiser HD600S, but even after two years of stretching and adjustments I still don't find them comfortable. I like the overall sound of the HD660S (after correcting the 5-6K Hz peak and slightly lifting the bass with parametric EQ), but would prefer a vocal presentation that isn't quite so forward. I hope the Meze 109 Pro is as comfortable as everyone says it is. I can't stand anything more than very gentle pressure on the sides of my head.
I bought these headphones based on youtube reviews. These headphones are not good. I had some 1970's sennheisers in the 70's, and they were good. I like crisp definition and punch. These phones are soft and spungy. NOT GOOD!! These are garbage. What are you youtubers doing?? WTF?? These tubers are profit oriented. I learned the hard way.
If you want crisp definition in the 600 lineup you need to look at the HD600.
How they compare to the classic Meze 99? in terms of Resolution / Soundstage and Image.
Stay tuned for that
The moment you said that HD 600 is your least liked of HD 600 Series, you lost me.
Cool 😎 everybody has to love the 600, huh…
Would you say these sound better than the $2,000 hd 820? Those headphones have gotten bad reviews, even though I love mine
For my preferences, I prefer the HD620S
Can you say clamp force is less than hd 560s or equal ???? thankss
I didn't compare the clamp with those headphones; I just compared the other two headphones I mentioned.
i need to try this!
You represented the sound very well, great review. I've been loving mine, they have some real wow factor for the price point.
Thanks for watching!
Hello, I bought some LCD-4s but they are too heavy. Will these or the MM-500 give me the same experience? Because LCDs are very warm for me, but above all, they are lighter.
No, the LCD-4 is in a league of its own. I would say maybe look at a DCA Expanse. While it won't sound the same as the LCD-4, it is much lighter and still has a fantastic sound.
I've tested both the Px7s2e and the Px8 and while they are both excellent headphones, they are in fact significantly different. The Px7s2e is more neutral, the px8 is a little more boomy in the low end. I ended up buying the px8. Ive also tested the B&O headphones (both hx and p95) and the sennheiser monentums, both of which i found quite dull sounding. Beautifully neutral, but not exiciting enough for my ears. All in all: i fully recommend to just go listen in a store, because audio is really most of all a matter of preference. Note: I didnt have a chance to test the focal bathys, so im not sure how they are sounding in comparison.
i really preferred the sound of the 40 over the 30 BUT my polk 4 ohm speakers would have to go on a fast . 4 ohm polks are very hungry speakers . they don't come alive with weaker amps so i took the plunge . i'm not disappointed but there is a lack of depth and fullness in the 30 which is not resolved at higher volumes . fortunately every thing else in the sound and looks is enough to make me keep the 30 for a long time . normally i don't care what an amp looks like but the brilliant silver front is a work of art and a joy to look at even when it's turned off. Maybe a sub at some point ?
Didn’t these come out in 2018?
Thanks for posting this video. I am considering the McIntosh MA9500 Integrated Amplifier. Do you or your viewers have any experience with this model of Mc solid state amplifier? Thanks Again!
Yes, absolutely, it's fantastic! Call Jason at the store he can give you more info on it. Tell him Marcello sent you.
Would this one pair lovely with the focal clear mg’s?
I think so!
Thanks for posting this cool vid.
Glad you enjoyed it
Have had the Z1R for the last 3 years. It is the best sounding headphone I have ever tried. I came from an HD650 and the Z1R blows that out of water. I have also tried the HD820, H&K, Focal etc. I just liked the Z1R sound MUCH more. The only way I can explain the sound is "fun" and "smooth and clear" its just all around fantastic and fun sounding. I can fall asleep with them on listening to HD storm sounds. For me the Z1R is my end game headphone, it just sounds that perfect to me. Then again I tend to love the Sony sound signature as I feel like it emphasizes most movies, music etc. Everything is very separated and just so damn clear.

The Z1R doesn't give a f*ck about what audiophiles think of it. It's a love letter to "music lovers" and not audiophiles.
I must love a lot of bass because the 99s are a favorite of mine for jazz, popular and classical. I use it with a Hiby FC4 on an MBP with Audirvana and Tidal.
They're basically a more sophisticated pair of V-Modas
Nice review Marcelo Ty
