I think its better to learn the whole CAGED and then break it as triads..At First we have to learn whole chords and THEN to select notes. With triads we dont know what we do..its a blind knowledge, sorry man..

Okay, that clarified the meaning of CAGED very well. I understand they are the open chord shapes corresponding to those letters. What mystifies me is how those shapes are useful (i.e. advantageous) when several are pretty difficult to play in bar chord form, particular in chord transitions/progressions? Thanks.
@LearningGuitarSecrets22 сағат бұрын
Good question! Some of these shapes are very uncomfortable to move up the fretboard, but you can always break them down into smaller chunks. Because a basic chord is created by playing 3 notes together, as long as you play those notes, you are playing the chord. This comes in very handy to find new voicings and if you're playing with someone, it gives you the chance to sound different while playing the same thing. Check out the TRIADS video to see the notes involved in each chord👍 kzread.info/dash/bejne/aoOpm4-MXdCqhNY.html

I never learned via CAGED, and I don't like how a lot of people teach music theory, either. I just learned a ton of chords and songs, and got into chord voicings that are reduced parts of the good old 5 'cowboy chord' shapes around the fretboard. But I have a geometrically oriented mind: I recognize forms and shapes in different contexts. As for music theory, what finally set me on bigger paths was realizing: you need lab courses to go along with your lecture courses. We need to apply the academic learning as soon as possible. Good luck with the channel. People seem to like it.
