@@LearningGuitarSecrets I agree, I was wondering how this worked. I would imagine the next question would be if I can use more than that one section and say skip from a 'C" to 'E'. etc... Thanks great lesson.
It's an easy and good way to explain the circle, u can add on how to use this cicle shapes with impro in major and minor scales
THIS is the reason Den is one of my Guitar Worthy Sites! He once again finds patterns, shapes, and similarities in music, the guitar, and theory, then highlights them to get you moving in your guitar journey to those AHA moments!

I've played for years but never understood (never really tried to be honest) the inner workings of it. The past year or so I've been trying to get into a little more of music theory and ideas behind things like the circle of 5ths and this is an explanation that really cleared things up for me. Thanks man.

Of course!!! Once you can understand how it works it's a lot easier. You still have to practice, but it feels better😃
However many videos I've watched in the past there was always some of it I didn't understand. But THIS makes total sense. Thank you so much.

I'm so happy it's finally clicking! Let's go!
Finally ! Finally i get it. Like i struggled to pass trig and algebra all through school, until a grade 12 summer school teacher explained it in a way I understood and I got an A-. And it became fun. Thank you !!!

So true!!! Love this story❤️ Thank you so much for sharing this!
Ahhh Thank you very much! I have been aware of the Circle of 5ths however it's was a maze to me. I had the basics but you tied it all together in a way we can understand. I like how you didn't assume that we knew more than we do, and I like how you didn't jump around. And then you played what you just explained!! Thank you once again!!!

Wohooo! So happy it clicked!
I appreciate your explanation. One suggestion would be to replace your “criss cross” method by simply stressing the order of notes is alphabetical. So you can start on your root note and number each chord/note in the key. Saves the step of drawing the lines. 😅

Great explanation again, love your lessons, you should have crossed out the word chord in your book and written shapes underneath.😀

Thanks Den. Explaining the circle of fifths using shapes and explaining how it ties together with the Nashville Numbering system, now the eyes are wide open. I have a chart of both and now when I look at them, I'm not going to be confused. I;ve understood the Nashville Numbering system, but the circle of fifths was confusing. PERFECT LESSON. You have a great way of explaining the music without going in depth with a lot of music theory jargon. Your method of teaching is pure, plain, simple and straight to the point. I hope you will do a video/lesson on the diminished note. I know it is not used that often, but having some knowledge of it would be appreciated. Love your video lessons and your books.

@@LearningGuitarSecrets Good to know we put a smile on your face. Keep up the good work. Love the way you teach.
most people have a poor understanding of the circle. this video isn't the best explanation of it. also, people who complain about learning theory are like a football player saying 'coach, why i gotta do these calisthenics? it's not like i'm gonna do them during a game.'

I am somewhat new to music, yet I believe this gentleman’s explanation of the circle of fifths is the best I have heard because it includes the diminished chord that most explanations I have heard IGNORE. IMHO I am glad I am listening to him and not you.
