Hey Jersey shore, I moved from the west coast to the east coast 2 years ago. I find hear its hard to find the emergencys without a close ear on the scanner. Is their any app you use to find the rural fires? (No pulsepoint coversge in my area/

Man I listen to the radio 24/7 no pulse point around here really, the wildfires I most find via VHF radio, the scanner app is a good place to listen.

While I only served briefly as a volunteer firefighter & fire police officer, we worked with a gentleman who served 63-years as a (firefighter, asst. fire chief and eventually a fire chief), then he became the regional fire photographer. These types of videos are absolutely essential for safety, training and even investigation. Coming from a police family, I know LEOs have a responsibility but, like anybody else on a fireground, these people know the risks. I think police nowadays need to stop pretending and start actually realizing there are other autonomous individuals who are going to be present. I know many like to believe they are a law enforcement dictator but, in reality, independent photographers are crucial today.

why did they need the second truck? the first one had the fire out before the second one even arrived
@Cthippo12 күн бұрын
Probably didn't, but the information from dispatch is notoriously unreliable, and so they could have shown up to a bigger situation than origimally thought. Also, not sure what size booster tanks this department runs, but it could be as small as 500 gallons, so having a second 500 gallons available makes sense.
