    Another wonderful video and hike! Doug, you zoomed into a couple of peaks above Twin Lakes. Are those called Twin Peaks? Maybe I missed the description. Beautiful shot! That’s awesome your subscriber gave Kellie a “new” bike! I really enjoy mine. I have never seen a Yellow Headed Black Bird. Very pretty! I was watering the garden this morning about 7:00 am and a Hummingbird stopped by me to say, “hello”! I heard it wings fluttering next to me and looked. 😊 I was quite surprised and delighted! It is a gray young fledgling that is learning and exploring everything; including me as he darts from flower to flower. I hope the little fellow makes it back here from Mexico next spring! Another thing you can use against bears are air horns. 12-14 oz can with a red horn attached to the top. They hate that sound and will run away fast. California is know for it's oh so clear snowmelt water. Those multiple level waterfalls from the little creeks are just a sight to behold. You can't find those in Nevada. Nice that Kellie got a new bike. Keep rolling on you two! Steve from Illinois

  • @CalNeva
    @CalNeva21 сағат бұрын

    @@hestheMaster Yes Steve, the air horns are a great idea (my other friend Steve at the lake uses those too!). Nevada has some nice water features like that, we will have to head out by the Ruby Mts. sometime and show them. Many people in California are tired of their current Gavin Dictatorship, so there is a mass exodus from there as people can live better lives. Sadly, we get the naughty bears dumped on us from California in areas that historically never had any bears (which makes it hard for them to find food). Crazy stuff happening these days! Can't wait to go on a bike ride with Kellie; it should be a good time! 🚴🚴

    @@rhondaz356 Hi Rhonda! It was a nice drive and the old truck was running like a top (had a new clutch put in at 255 k miles). Nevada is much different than California; we have no income tax, less business regulations, all the taxes are lower, most of the state is conservative (excepting Reno/ Las Vegas), and Nevadans still have all their human rights, unlike our neighbors to the west (thus we can protect our lives from bears). I know everyone appreciates the running water, especially in our region due to our recent heat waves! The Lake is popular but still plenty of elbow room. I love those yellow headed blackbirds. Hi Doug and Kellie , what do you mean it was fun ? It was Great Fun !!! You've managed to capture a part of the Eastern Sierras in its most spectacular beauty , few people would ever get a chance to see vistas as heavenly as those. The distant mountain ranges were gorgeous really gives viewers a chance to get a grip of the solitude . As usual Doug and Kellie be safe !!! You really touch out hearts from the birds singing to the gentle winds blowing across the leaves of trees . The trout swimming in those cool clear rivers and lakes , you could almost touch them . Again many thanks for your awesome videos . Also wonderful shots of South Lake Tahoe and the boys playing basketball , it's like we were all there cheering them on !!!

    Whew that glorious hike was quite the climb! Take your time and it is doable. I know it's Doug Berry's channel but a guest is a guest and she can and should chime in as often as she wants. Nothing better than getting a female perspective what is being seen ,heard and felt. Before anyone askes that rock on top of Tioga Pass is metamorphosed sedimentary rock that has been uplifted and well it cracks easily by the upwards movement. Remember it was on the bottom millions of years ago. It is no different than mountains in Nevada. Love the alpine flowers,meadows and lakes. Happy 4th all!

    Hey again Brother Doug and Kellie. 👋 That was some fun hike, familiar country for me, but I never hiked up that peak. Whenever I hiked in the mountains, I would never fail to get a headache at the 11,000 ft.level, and it wouldn't stop until I got lower! That punturevine! Man. That stuff was a running battle on my old home place for years. First my dad, then I took over the war. Finally beat it after about 50 years! Anyway, tell Kellie hi and I hope you have a great 4th! 🇺🇸
