Yep. Hawthorne, Nevada is a very patriotic town- definitely a front runner for "the most patriotic town". For sure Hawthorne flies the most ginormous American Flag I've ever seen! Truly a massive flag to behold! Regarding the three classic Ford vehicles seen midway thru the video... I'm no expert on vintage cars but those beautiful three rides look like Ford Model A not Model T. Furthermore, I'm thinking they are the Sedan version as opposed to the Coup or "pickup truck" version. Thanks Doug and Kellie for another enjoyable video! Keep on keeping on.

🦬... That 🌈 was beautiful. The incident of that poor young guy, was so horrific.😢 It's nice that someone still brings flowers. The graves of children are always very sad to see.🥺 What a lovely, interesting town that Hawthorne is, and was.👏🏻 The horses were beautiful. 🐎🐴 The Chinese cemetery was so fascinating. Thank you both for the wonderful tour of the town. Those old cars were awesome... **I am so happy that preservation of the past is a top priority. Like you, Doug, Kellie is a font of info.🎉 This was so enjoyable. Thank you. I absolutely would love to go there. My Dad's most, enjoyable job was as the curator of the old, defunct Fort Devens' Museum. When the base closed, I have no idea where the displays, etc. went, unfortunately. 😔 In any case, this was absolutely terrific, as always, Doug. BRAVO 🏡🙏🏻🤗🌞🦬👏🏻👏🏻 You picked the best way to showcase what there is to see.🚲🚲

Hi Rhonda, glad your family is well! 🙏👍 Thank you for the kind support, Kellie read your comment this morning and said "Thank you". Looked up the info on Fort Devon near Shirley; very interesting history, plus it also has a cemetery there. As I said before, I spent some time in Shelburne which is west of Greenfield in the Connecticut Valley area hauling crane mats for a logging operation...not close to you, but also in Massachusetts. I hauled to Maine from there and had to go around Boston; wow, the traffic; epic! I knew everyone would like the horses. Not many people are aware of our Chinese cemetery; Kellie was involved in getting it recognized. I had fun reading your comments; have a great springtime! 🇺🇸 🌡️🌧️🌞🌥️☔☀️🪻🩵

Hi Brother Doug and Kellie! That was a great tour of Hawthorne, thanks for taking us with you, lots to see. You are lucky to have good smelling roses 🌹, it's hard to find roses that have a scent these days. And the grapes 🍇 look delicious. I noticed lots of birds 🐦 singing too, spring has sprung I think 🤔. I'd like to take a bicycle tour of Hawthorne, but it probably should be a three wheeler. Or better yet, four. With training wheels. And a motor. Ha! It was fun as always Brother! 🇺🇸

Hi my Brother! You are correct; the birds are singing all over town, especially the robin who starts at 4 AM, and the birds that throw a convention over at the hedge in front of Kellie's...and the trees are a popping. Apricots do well here also, but everything else besides cactus, salt lover, goat heads, and tumbleweeds can be a fine challenge. I think a rock garden without any plants would be the easiest, but still, if you can grow grapes whose complaining (they taste good chilled in the summer, plus you can drink them later in many different ways to pass the time and ward off the winter chill). I think a little wind powered sail car could work for you, but you might want to wear a helmet and an Evil Kenieval suit, less for safety and more for style. Have fun my friends! 💯🙏👋🌬️🛴🚨🏎️🪖🏁

Early afternoons, on the deck at Grizzly Flats, used to hear ( feel) blasts of (used ?) ordnance, I am told were all the way from Hawthorn. Well it is going to take some time to get to Death Valley in a model T Ford. It's doable , but at a top speed of 45 MPH. I'm more partial to a mid 1930's American built car. They can do about 70 MPH. Kellie went to the movies at that theater when she was in high school huh. That must have been like only twenty years ago. We have driven through your area once. And we saw all those ammunition bunkers. Are they still able to explode? That's an odd strange way that a town grew up around them all. I enjoy all you and Kellie's adventures and have been to some of the areas in the Eastern Sierra.

Hello Sueann, the bunkers could explode or leak in theory, but chances are slim. They are very careful. Town was chosen because of its remote location after a big explosion in New Jersey. Just love those roses! Very clean, lovely little town. The mountains look magnificent in the horizon. Unfortunately, children would work with their adult relations in whatever was their main source of income. Until child labor laws where put in place around 1938, employment of children was commomplace. The only exception to the law was farming where underage kids were disabled and even killed in farming accidents.

Hello Marie, I will have to get some pictures from the rose garden when they start blooming; there are all sorts of colors there. 🌹💐 We do have some junky and abandoned properties, but we try to keep our town tidy. There is a spring cleanup of trash and rubbish going on this week, and our dump is free for residents. I always enjoy having a garden spot, and my little effort makes our street look a little better. I know Florida raises a lot of nursery stock; there is even a grower that specializes in Clematis vines...I believe in Apopka. Enjoy your weekend my friend. 🙏🩵👋🌹🌺🌷🪷🌸🏵️💮🪻🌻🌼💐🌴

@@CalNeva Do you're driving along at 70-80MPH on a long stretch of highway, and then suddenly, too far out of Hawthorne, you have to slow down to an unreasonable speed and maintain that until you get out of Hawthorne. Wisconsin is famous of this, 25MPH when you hit the outskirts and you must maintain that speed until you leave the city. Painful!
