    According to Alldata the exhaust cam, the one in the back, is supposed be a half tooth below the front one. Yours looked to be the opposite, I’m wondering if that was accidental or intentional? You should’ve covered finding TDC for the #1 piston, just showing you spin the crank to line up the mark could cause someone to need to redo all that work.

    These kits are a waste of time and money....first of all if you put this kit on a older jeep your not getting a 2 inch lift cause the stock springs are shot so you need new ones. Save up some cash and buy a 4 inch lift kit that way it's a whole new suspension at the height that looks badass 🤘

    I put 2.5 spacers on my 04 and honestly if ur not hitting trails to hard and just want some height then spacers are a good alternative

    Ok, talk to me here. How close to stock quite is it getting? I need my car (B6 A4 Avant 1.8t) to be reasonable sounding for my sanity, but I don't want complete sad stock exhaust. I got the car with a 3 in turbo back and same bullet style junk.... stupid loud. Would you say this is "closer to stock" but obviously still makes some noise? Also, it seems quite at idle, but decent at full song, can you confirm that? Thx

    I had this exact same setup on a mk5 gti (2.0t) and ended up installing a 16” resonator in mid pipe to keep the drone down at highway speed. The gti is a much shorter car than a B6 so Id recommend you look into a slightly longer resonator to bring the decibels down but still have a sporty sound when accelerating. Resonator is a much cheaper option and easier to install in a straight section.

  • @dubs4life7
    @dubs4life74 ай бұрын

    What resonator did you add? I had a vibrant UQ on my mk5 rabbit. It did pretty good, just curious what worked for you.

  • @jackstandnation
    @jackstandnation2 ай бұрын

    The car has 2 other small glasspacks in it (no cats). They just act as resonators. It sounds a lot better with the new muffler imho. It doesnt drone like crazy and long trips arn't a problem

    This system isn't super loud but still has good tone driving it. It's way less obnoxious then before and it makes driving the car a lot better. Thwy have some kits that sound better but I got the car with the exhaust on it and just wanted to change it up a bit

    "Hi, I wanted to ask if raising the height of your vehicle by 2 inches has affected its handling on the freeway, especially when taking turns. I think the difference might not be significant, but the last time I raised the height of my vehicle decades ago, it also had larger tires which made the ride louder, like on a dirt bike. So, I'm looking for a compromise between the height and the noise. Also, did you notice any changes in mileage after raising the height? Your instructions make it look plausible for someone like me to do it myself. Thank you, and take care!"

  • @jackstandnation
    @jackstandnation5 ай бұрын

    It still drives pretty well with the lift due to it being such a small lift. Mileage is about the same to my knowledge. We installed the lift for a family member so I haven't really driven it since.

    How bad would it be if u didn't realize someone put 2.0 cams in your 2.4 and u turned it on 3 times after timing to 2.4 marks? I thought they just used 2.0 sprokets and read theyre enterchangable. Started it idles rough but sound good if I gas it. I couldn't see the 2.0 marks before I took them off and scrubbed there was soo much gunk in there. Long story. So I just thought they're a tooth off. Now I don't know if it was flipped over or not. 🤦 mom trying to do this for my teenage daughter. I know enough to f some shit up apparently.

    Make sure both holes in the cams are up. If one gear is flipped 180 off when installing them there 2.0 cams.

    I ran the 228R (228/228/112) for a few years in my mn6 C5. Good little cam especially when paired with ported heads. At the time it had BBK shorties and 4.10 gear. Car made 391/379 at the wheels on A&A Corvettes dyno.

  • @jackstandnation
    @jackstandnation2 ай бұрын

    Those are good numbers. I never had mine dynoed but im guessing like 380whp

  • @gotmylk
    @gotmylk2 ай бұрын

    My numbers above included WCCH stage 2 ported #241 heads. Which on the flow bench outperformed my untouched #243 heads Substantially. #243’s are only good for about 15 to 20whp in stock form over stock #241. My WCCH heads were a 35rwhp gain over stock. So if you’re 241 heads are stock and you just did the cam (without longtubes) my estimate is you likely saw about a 35hp gain at the wheels over stock. So I’m figuring your car is more like 340 to 345 at the wheels. The cam won’t shine without heads and vice versa the heads won’t shine without a bigger cam. Once you do both the difference in power grows considerably. Then add LTs to the mix and your car is up in the 418 to 430whp range. Then throw on an ECS Novi 1500 and you’ll see over 600whp/500rwtq on a 93 octane tune.
