When I was a kid, they told us that black hole consume everything around them.
What do you mean “raises new possibilities on finding black holes”? Black holes without an accretion disk are the norm, and we have observed many so far, namely Sagittarius A in the center of our galaxy. We know these objects are there from other visible objects orbiting around an empty point in space or from gravitational lensing effects. This is not some new discovery, just another black hole found that is relatively close to earth this time.
The Moon is made of cheese, that new Exoplanet is made of a cotton candy, can't wait when scientists found a Planet made of an icecream! 😊❤

<--Non Science grounded poet here. What if Earth's life - friendly qualities are rare? Survival is a crapshoot, after all. Anomalies in structure, climate, the parent star's perturbations and long term cycles, even distance and/or placement in the so-called Cinderella zone" are notional, not part of any straightforward process. Pan-Gaia isn't a theory; it has no testable parameters. Cold chemistry, at least, does happen, but there is often high energy activity involved, like the discoloration and sublimation of tholins. Where can life incubate without interference? Not one existential crisis, but a whole bombardment (pun intended) of them from every potential disaster vector possible, from astrobleme to tidal forces, and from magma irruption to oceanic chemistry alteration. With so many potential extinction events permissible and probable, the present "sheer size of the universe certainly must mean--" conviction weakens. In fact, that sounds more like religious faith than science. Sorry. Like I said: I'm a poet. And poetry is sensitive to narrative. If we do discover "life' somewhere else, and did not carry it there ourselves, I will happily retract. Excelsior!
