The Doing Stuff Channel

The Doing Stuff Channel

Welcome to The Doing Stuff Channel where we...do stuff! As a Veteran and small business owner with over 14 years of experience in aviation maintenance I realized that what made my family and I happiest was serving others.

During the establishment of my business, I was greatly inspired by other KZreadrs like "Lawn Care Juggernaut" and "SB Mowing". Promoting the business was also a big reminder of how much I enjoyed editing and uploading as "BassMerica".

I'm a husband and father of two girls and a baby boy. I hope to successfully lead by example for my kids to do good things in the short time we're here. I hope to inspire my family even more than I've been inspired to not only do stuff but to do good stuff.

Thank you for supporting and doing stuff with me!

    Simple idea, but could do with some safety features, maybe. Something to cover the top half of the blade? I really was expecting to see a nasty little accident.

    I have thought about this. I think a good idea would be to build a slot for the bamboo to go in and push through the slot. The blade would also be in the slot.

    I used one brand (Eco Garden Pro). Before I put it on, I tested the lawn with a screwdriver to see how far it went in. Two days after I put the product on, I tested the same area, again and the screwdriver went in much further. Your mileage may vary.

    Things have gotten so crazy that the hillbilly population is increasing. Even in the cities with all the jobs people aren't "making it" like they use to and now have to do things "the hillbilly way".

  • @michelewalburn4376
    @michelewalburn437618 күн бұрын

    It's not their dream. They can't imagine it. All they know is what they've learned from the media. Yes the majority of people who live in big cities think that rural people are a mix of wrong turn and aunt Bea, ignorant, naive, gullible, and dangerous as hell. I don't blame them, or judge them for it. What do we think of city people? Where did we learn it? The media Why were we taught that? To keep us divided. For the same reason they're taught

  • @DoingStuffChannel
    @DoingStuffChannel17 күн бұрын

    You're 100% correct. That's why I didn't really mean to say city slicker and changed to city folk. My main point was that the term "hillbilly" is not derogatory or at all insulting to country folk. For some it is about perspective or outlook which is very much influenced by media as you said and/or the people they associate with. For example, "the hillbilly way" in a "professional environment" is considered doing something "incorrect" while on the other hand, the hillbilly way works when nothing else does. I think terms like city slicker or hillbilly when used as an insult are in some cases driven by their jealousy and insecurities as well.

    I guess technically the easiest way is to hire someone but unfortunately yes it is the easiest way to replace mower blades. Even with this mower not having the best jack points, it's still easier than removing the deck or tilting it over. The famous engineering quote "The road to success is always under construction" by Lily Tomlin encapsulates the ever-evolving nature of engineering.

    It is much easier to just drop the deck and pull it out from under the tractor. Much safer AND allows for easy inspection of pulleys, spindles, and belts. Also, an $8 balancer tool will guarantee you have honestly balanced blades. That old "hang it on a nail" test is completely unreliable. This post earns a D+.

  • @PainterD54

    @@bobwelch7609 I takes all of 5 minutes to remover, sharpen and replace my two blades on my mower. If you have a floor jack, you jack up the front off the ground. remove the blade on one side, sharpen it with an angle grinder with the blade in my bench vice. Balance it on my blade balancer. Repeat on the other side, Done! This guy has no clue how to sharpen a blade. He just ground off the edge so it was straight, that's all. WTF?

  • @bcrusher1979

    I've used this stuff once and it did an OK job for mild cleaning. I've had much better results with Pool Shock that I can buy for $4 a gallon. Mix the Shock with 50/50 with water and add about a cup of dawn into my 4 gallon back pack sprayer. Still shouldn't let it dry on anything so I did 10ft sections at a time. Hosed off and my fence and siding on my garage looked almost new. If you have heavy normal dirt build up, any one of the purple cleaner our there will do a great job on that mixed 50/50 with water.
