Stick a utility knife with a new blade into the middle of a 2 x 4 towards the end of the board. Make sure the blade is facing inward. Give it a tap or two with a hammer. Submerge the bamboo in water for 24 hours. Now you can lay the bamboo pieces on the 2 x 4 and run it through the knife blade like plywood on a table saw. Very thin and even slices can be achieved. I used to do this when making model ships.

THIS! Thank you! I'll be giving this a try for sure! Do I have to soak in water for 24 hours? Either way this seems like a much more efficient way to go and may even do a video on this alone! Thank you so much!

Bamboo is awesome if you heat it over a fire it bubbles up and that liquid becomes a preserver for the bamboo. You probably already know this so forgive me. Cool stuff.

I remember reading that when I first started looking into the different craft ideas. I can speak from experience that it’s true! It can act as its own finish and looks awesome as well if done correctly! It is awesome! 🙂
