I've done the coffee cup one (2/3) at resorts with a kitchen. Also works with the back of a plate too.

If you cut out the ceramic part of a spark plug you are left with a tool that is useful for engine mechanics to find a cylinder's compression stroke . If the metal remains of the spark plug are screwed into an engine cylinder and a balloon is attached to where the ceramic fitted and the engine crank is slowly revolved the balloon will inflate . This will show the compression stroke , but not top dead centre ; it saves removing the valve covers to check for the compression stroke . It might also act as a rough guide to compression differences between cylinders , but that might be pushing the technique a bit far , I am not too sure ! Nothing to do with knife sharpening , but we are here to learn !

Sharpening a knife with a stone is meditation....and it needs time to get a good result. I won't do this with my expensive knives.

🟦... That knife should be sharpened by strokes that go Away from the Spine at about a 60° angle, which way is determined by your choice as to whether you want the knife to "Catch" more on the Pull or the Push!

But you demonstrate in your video, that your knife ist not sharp after the sharpening process. You must visibly exert a lot of pressure on the tomato before the knife cuts in. This is anything but razor sharp.
Ni se os ocurra lo del tornillo, destrozará el filo y el cuchillo tendrá muy mal arreglo. Lo del filo de la taza puede hacerse como una urgencia, pero no con frecuencia y el filo no es duradero. Lo de la bujía es casi lo mismo que la taza, afilar con un filo cerámico pero más complicado y con peor resultado. No recomiendo ninguna de estas tres formas de afilar.
This cannot be good for a knife blade I would think it messes with the heat treatment of the steel!

It won’t mess with heat treat but still a horrible guide. The first method especially made me cringe the whole time.

Except most people, including myself have difficulty with the right angle on both edges. While I can sharpen a plane blade extremely well, knives however need both edges sharp. I can get the somewhat, but not as sharp as they need to be.
Sorry, but that's something else. Not a good tip and you will ruin the angle of the basic knife grind.

Alles dilettantische Hilfsmittel. Mit einem doppelseitigen Schleifstein für trocken und nass, um wenige Euro, erzielt man beste Ergebnisse.

Not impressed. Just use a sharpening stone, wise investment. Your methods are sort of dangerous that the first thing you will if knife cuts will your fingers.
