Hi there!
My name's Paul and I've recently rebranded this channel to log all the projects I come across.
My goal is to add informative commentary, either share my knowledge, findings, or failures, with the hope of giving some insight.
I also make guitars, and have started doing custom guitar/bass builds for clients.
Please send an e-mail for business inquiries.

Your an incredible builder and woodworker I'm soo impressed especially with the neck you made I know how hard that is that's the reason I'm re purposing a old bass neck I had I'm just putting wings on the headstock and cutting out the design Im building a 4001 rickenbacker copy from scratch I'm halfway through it and I don't have a workshop either so I enjoyed this even more
Just found your channel. Any chance that you're still building? I saw your multiscale bass build and wondered if you could make a Strandberg-style headless bass.
You make it absolutely possible for a hobbiist to build a guitar.
you installed the bridge wrong way around, otherwise great build, I'll for sure have to do this as well at some point. Have some design ideas that really are not available from any bigger company
Did you intonate the bass? The sound demo at the start of the video makes it sound like the D-string is way off when you pop the B on the 9th fret

Really enjoyed this why did you stop posting here?
Hey man! Thanks for watching, I've been busy, uni and work getting in the way of projects. Sorry for not posting more!
Pretty cool, are you still selling these?
Great video but please take the gloves off at the tablesaw!!! If the glove catches the blade you will have a worse injury than had you not worn a glove, I do see it looks like it's cold. You use adhesive toe warmers on the back of your hands
nice. I'm working my first body build. Lots of challenges. Few tools. Scavenged wood. You obviously have skill. It's great to see such a fine job done WITHOUT a full wood working shop. Would love to see the video of the fret radius jig.
Where can i find plans for this ?
That "lathe" is not heavy. Here's to hoping you have obtained one by now that actually is ;-) and learned how the skew chisel is actually used (spoiler: not as a scraper.)
Man, making all routing job without any templates is really challenging. Respect!
THANKS FOR SHARE.
Mad respect... I'm working on my second build and still haven't conquered making my own neck yet....beautiful job sir!
1" galvanized pipe and T-connectors for me
🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸
Awesome build
What size bit did you use for the body round over
that looks more like a "shit bird" than a thundeerbird 😂 im just joshiin around its very cool looking
I really salute you for following the safety rules here! Also the build, precious, a hard one to master!
This is an amazing video, I hope to build my own bass next year and your video offers some good advice 🙂 The bass looks so nice, massive congrats.
Slick as hell homie
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Not only does Yung Gravy slay MILFs he also builds his own basses.
What happens when your pots slip??
Your router work is amazing! No templates and all
Great job bro 👍
Hey Paul I know this is an old video but are you still selling guitars? I'm specifically looking for a unique neck for a bass
what microphone do you use on the bass?
Make series
Im proud of yall. Ur build n fine instruments
Incredible! How do you know how to place the frets on a multiscale?
Fantastic job! How did you make the anvil inlay? What if you have to adjust or repair the electronics? Then you will have to crack it open..
How much is a Stingray bass built by you? I can't find your website? How did you avoid cracking the inlay as you installed the 12th fretstring?
¡¡ Great¡¡ ¡¡what a good luthier¡👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Nicely done. Isn't sanding a curved top such a pain ;)
👏 bravo!
Is that some GD in the background
I'm building a bass (my first time) so videos like yours are super helpful. Great guitar by the way. I'm guessing your a left hander that plays right handed guitars??.....cool
I get the geist of how to calculate where the frets go on a multiscale, but a more in depth video with practical details would be cool.
Excellent build, I'm inspired - thanks for the video!
Wow.
What paint do you use for birch veneer?
I just used a black stain/dye. I believe you could also make your own with steel wool and vinegar, you could look into it on youtube. I just bought a black wood stain.
Hi, first of all I have to say that I love your videos and very inspirational. This B1005 is a killer bass and it looks like you took extra care for yours so it probably sounds amazing. I have two questions please if you have the time. First and foremost, did you work with any plans, and is where can I get those? The second question is what pickups did you use. Thank you😊
Thank you for your nice comment! I made my own plans, but since it's a copy of an existing model I don't think I can legally share plans. I really just copied, traced and printed the general shapes from images online. You can get the image scaled correctly by measuring the scale length. From bridge to nut, if that length is good, the rest is to size as well. The pickups are Fishman Fluence 5 string bass pickups. They're basically plug and play and you can really customise the sound.
Could you put a link to the template for body that you used? I wanna make my own as well!
That was 18 minutes well spend. I loved the radius contraption, it is genius in it's simplicity my friend. I think you definately have what it takes. Best regards from the Netherlands.
That turned out sick! Great job, man.
Woah, thanks Nate! I remember watching some of your videos, I especially liked your 40 technique bass solo. I'm glad you enjoyed my video.
Nice build... I have always wanted to try and build my own bass... I recently after tons of research and asking a ton of questions on talkbass, dives into a headstock repair on my Ibanez. Its an inexpensive bass, but my father got it for me in 2003 and he ia no longer with us, but i had pretty much tossed a fit at band practice and tossed my bass down and damaged it. The headstock was split and cracked very badly... You can learn anything on youtube these days and i was successful with my repair... I would love to have some.custom inlays put in but no luthiers are close iny area and i haven't got the steady hand, patience, and courage to do it myself... Thanks for your video, and that bass looks and aounds great.
