This was super helpful and you sir are quite the craftsman, I’m basing my tonfa’s on the defense style where the Tonfa is more squared your handle work is amazing !
Skilfull and solid craftsmanship !... And each and every detail thoroughly explained ! Yes, Sir ! Thumbs up !! Thank you so much for sharing ! 👍👍👍
The quality is freaking stunning! And this video is so inspiring!
Hey there! I’m a Kobudo practitioner and have been wondering if I could build my own Tonfā. I just typed “how to make Tonfā” and your vid came up on top. Those specs are rather on point and they look 👍 I’ll definitely use your example to when I get down to building them. Also your skills at striking with the Tonfā are also right on point as you handle and quick stop them. Cool demonstrations hitting those containers. Cheers!
Both your skill of making a video and skill at woodwork are perfection. Whenever I see a lathe it reminds me of doing woodwork in high school. I was shaping a small piece of wood into a Star Wars star destroyer spaceship. My teacher comes over and looks at it and thinks I was making a wedge. He tells off all the other kids in the class for wasting time and says I am the only one doing something constructive.
If any of yall want to make these but don't have access to a lathe, beveling and sanding with a belt sander got the job done well enough for me.
Tonfas are cool, thanks for the video
Great build mate , the detail is excellent 👍
Wowww, great job, dude!!!
I’m your 500th sub, congrats

Pretty sure that tonfas are Okinawan, but still, you’re pretty good with this type of stuff
Yo thanks, I've been trying to learn different martial arts, and my family has a ton of wood, so I didn't have to buy anything
Thanks now I know how to make tonfas
Thank you
Seems like he already has been prepared for his Mortal Kombat movie
Just great. I have 2 dowels but no lathe.. Kama it is
Hi Paul I guess you know how to use tonfa ? well any way I wonder if stiking capicity if I was trying to create my own could be acomplished by puting a dome tip thoughts?
Technische tekening 10/10
I like this video Make more defense weapon idol
Honestly the most intimidating hand weapon if you know what it is
well done on the measurements-scaled to the owner
Here is a question for you if I have one where the handle is very smooth would you recommend covering it in elecrtrical tape for better grip?
@PforProject
3 жыл бұрын
I would not recommend electrical tape as it is not very high quality. The handle is grippy, due to the finish. Making it more grippy will prevent you from swinging it outwards. If more grip is desired, you could wrap the handle in hockey /tennis griptape
now i can be hibari

TayRocket YESS soul reason i got into tonfa’s
Amazing craftsmanship sir :'0 ♥️ amazing tonfa :3
Waar kan ik ze bestellen ?
1" galvanized pipe and T-connectors for me
That "lathe" is not heavy. Here's to hoping you have obtained one by now that actually is ;-) and learned how the skew chisel is actually used (spoiler: not as a scraper.)
Tonfa are only used by black belts in kobudo and Tonfa originated in Thailand
😮😮😮
Ha! Alleen al van je achtertuin wist ik dat je NL was XD
Do you get your inspiration from zna production cuz I like your style

Nice, but I would like to have inches instead of cm measure. We don' t use metrics here across the pond !

Can you make me a pair? I could venmo u the money!
You’re not bad but get some formal training. Any karate will do. And you can expand your knowledge with Kung fu and Muay Thai. Even Krav Maga concepts can help in Tonfa use. Keep training my fellow tonfa brother.
Tonfa.tonqwa are NOT Japanese. There are Okinawan weapons adopted fro China.
