it's an honor seeing an instrument builder do such work here on youtube, man, never stop what you're doing, seriously, you're awesome! awesome techniques, awesome build, awesome choice of woods and parts, awesome everything!
That is an awesome looking bass! And the work you did on it without an established shop setup is incredible; down on your knees cutting and planing the wood! Keep it up!
This is absolutely incredible. Great video and amazing craftsmanship!
Amazing!! It's on my bucket list to build a bass like this! Well done.
I appreciate you taking the time to make this a quick video. It shows me how to do this kind of thing. Enjoy your cool modded bass. ✌️😎👍🎸
Series builds are great! Beautiful build!!!
love the project lovely build love the craftsmanship
This is an amazing video, I hope to build my own bass next year and your video offers some good advice 🙂 The bass looks so nice, massive congrats.
Nice work! Amazing bass!!
I had the privilege to bear witness the process of this build. Starting of with ideas in your head until this gorgeous finalised instrument! You shure can be proud of what you pulled of, now pull some strings my friend !!! My deepest compliments!!!

Thank you, appreciate it!
Incredible, and very envious i might add. I would love to try a build such as this (most likely with an SG/esp viper esque body) The more information the better so i'd say both kinds of videos! I cannot wait to see more
Great job man! A new subscriber.
Impressive, congratulations!
Freaking awesome job!!!

Wow awsome build! it might even beat the guitar you got made for me a few months ago!
bellísimo instrumento, excelente trabajo
I'm building a bass (my first time) so videos like yours are super helpful. Great guitar by the way. I'm guessing your a left hander that plays right handed guitars??.....cool
@7:54 I hear you listening to the arctic monkeys, great choice ;) and lovely bass overall!!! I absolutely love how it looks
Nice work.

And I hear that Tool 😂
I’d prefer a series showing each step in real time. Great video. Thanks for your tutelage.
Incredible! How do you know how to place the frets on a multiscale?
Did you have a specific idea of tone when you selected the wood and electronics you used in the build? Great looking bass! Well built instruments are a dream to play. How much would something like this cost?
nice build. One question: @13:55 how do you wire up the ground wire through the holes under the single rail bridge? do you need to drill a long hole horizontally under those five holes? thanks!
Great job dude, the wood choice on this one is excellent. How did you meassure out the string spacings, fret messurements etc? Couldn't really see how you figured that out in the video

Thanks for your comment! The fret spacing was calculated in a cad program so that all the middle strings would fall in line. I basically calculated the string spacings for the longer B, and shorter G strings the traditional way. I then picked the 12th fret as a neutral (the fret is perpendicular to the strings.) From this, a compound radius emerged. The longest string is 36.5" and the shortest is 34".
I see so many 5 string demos where people don't even play a single note on the B string :D How come? Incredible build nonetheless, looks and sounds great
Hi, first of all I have to say that I love your videos and very inspirational. This B1005 is a killer bass and it looks like you took extra care for yours so it probably sounds amazing. I have two questions please if you have the time. First and foremost, did you work with any plans, and is where can I get those? The second question is what pickups did you use. Thank you😊

Thank you for your nice comment! I made my own plans, but since it's a copy of an existing model I don't think I can legally share plans. I really just copied, traced and printed the general shapes from images online. You can get the image scaled correctly by measuring the scale length. From bridge to nut, if that length is good, the rest is to size as well. The pickups are Fishman Fluence 5 string bass pickups. They're basically plug and play and you can really customise the sound.
Yes, do video a more detailed version like one hour long!
I get the geist of how to calculate where the frets go on a multiscale, but a more in depth video with practical details would be cool.
Where can i find plans for this ?
GOOD
Holy hell that is my dream bass too! I will one day have to try my hand at doing some bass guitars. It really is beautiful, how much would something like that cost to buy?

Thank you for you reaction! This particular bass would cost you about 1400 euros. The electronics are high end (expensive), the woods are expensive and exotic. There are also many hours of labour. With an easier build, different electronics or cheaper wood choice the price could drop a little.

@@PforProject oh wow that's actually an amazing price for such quality work. I've always wanted a bass featuring purple heart, and neck thru is my favourite construction technique as it has such great sustain. I play a Yamaha TRB ii so I like my basses high quality and don't mind a higher price tag.
Great job dude! I have a question. I also live in the Netherlands and am into building guitars. What was the wood supplier you went to? Thanks!

hey man! Arnhem fijnhout is a long drive from my home but it's worth it for the ability to surround yourself with a large variety of pieces of really nice exotic woods. For this bass, only the swamp ash was imported from a luthiery supplier in spain. The other pieces of wood are from Arnhem Fijnhout. Goodluck!!
Hello.. Can I get the fretboard layout sir?
Are you doing any orders on guitar builds at the moment? If so how much would it cost to do a multiscale bass guitar?
@PforProject
Жыл бұрын
A multiscale bass like this may go for about 1400 euro's. If you would like to purchase this one thats the price. With cheaper woods and an easier finish etc, this price can drop to about 1000 euros.
How much would something like that cost?
Man, your hands are getting extremely close to that table saw. Please use adequate protection when publishing material for millions of ppl to see. I would honestly also try to work on the accuracy of the manufacturing (fret positioning, neck transitions...). On a positive note, as long as you enjoy playing it, good job!
love the bass!! just wanted to say be careful wearing gloves when using a tablesaw or any machinery, the fabric could get caught and cause really bad damage.

Im sure you know this already but it made me panic seeing your hands so close to the saw lol

Thanks for watching! And yes, fully aware. These are special, tight fitting gloves that help with grip. Cold hands (it was snowing outside, where I was working) on smooth wood is pretty risky, as it could make me lose grip. This was, in my opinion, more risky as I could slip into the sawblade. That being said, I appreciate the concern and I'm fully on board with your comment. My hands definitely got too close to the sawblade on occasion, and I will be using more guides/push-sticks in the future.
What paint do you use for birch veneer?
@PforProject

I just used a black stain/dye. I believe you could also make your own with steel wool and vinegar, you could look into it on youtube. I just bought a black wood stain.
Make series
Of course you had tonplay schism 😂 And PLEEAASE tell me what you would charge for a bolt on multiscale 5 string neck 😄
@PforProject
Жыл бұрын
Ofcourse! And depending on your wishes and preferences probably somewhere up from 1500 euros.

@@PforProject just the neck as the same type like in your video...I'd try it by myself or ask my uncle who's a trained carpenter but I guess you're more experienced in it 😁
I really salute you for following the safety rules here! Also the build, precious, a hard one to master!
That sure is a strange looking harmonica. The greater the depth the better for me. I am just beginning on the Luthier paths.
Great video but please take the gloves off at the tablesaw!!! If the glove catches the blade you will have a worse injury than had you not worn a glove, I do see it looks like it's cold. You use adhesive toe warmers on the back of your hands
Love your video, but your fingers are getting WAAAY too close to that sawblade! Get some push sticks! You don't want to learn that lesson the way I did.
God he’s so attractive and I’m so fucking proud
