America is an American folk rock band that originally consisted of Gerry Beckley, Dewey Bunnell and Dan Peek. The three members were barely out of their teens when they became a musical sensation during 1972, scoring No. 1 hits and winning a Grammy for best new musical artist. Their recording success stretched throughout the 1970s; some of the band's best known songs are "A Horse with No Name", "Sister Golden Hair" (both of which reached No. 1), "Ventura Highway", "Tin Man", "Daisy Jane", and "Lonely People". George Martin produced seven of their albums.

It's so good to see this. Saw them in Chicago a handful of times. America was my favorite band in high school..still is! I have t-shirts to prove it! Dan was my favorite. I had his name written all over my school books lol! So many favorites...Three Roses, Head and Heart for sure. Thank you for all of the beautiful music and memories ❤

I saw them around that year but may have been 74 I was on the 11nth grade saw them at the Mid South Colosseum in Memphis Tennessee 12th row my teacher was in the second row😅😅 her first year teaching Vera Rodgers .. my first concert.
