Hi,whats the name of the first voice ?
Love this song so much. My ex husband sent me this link, reminding me that I used to sing it to my son when he was a baby on the changing table. When I used to say 'You can do Magic" I used to say "Bing Bing," in a high voice and he would giggle and giggle. A beautiful memory... unfortunately, he was killed in April 2002 at the age of 20. I always wanted to recreate this memory with my grandchildren. We'll see...hopefully soon now that my daughter has found her forever love. ❤️

Late 1970's at the town pool in a small midwest American town on a warm summer day, America playing on the pool speakers for the teenage lifeguards. I was around 10 years old and the summer seemed long - no school in sight, there was nothing but the pure freedom of childhood and summer play, tomorrow and the next days would be the same, as far as my youthful eyes could see. @@emilymalden3310 America were originally Dan Peek, Gerry Beckley and Dewey Bunnell. As a trio they would score several hits between 1972 and 1977. Dan Peek left the band in 1977 and America continued on as a duo, Beckley and Bunnell, and they would release several albums between 1979 and 1985, still only one single, You Can Do Magic became a big hit. The other players in this video were their backing band, both on record and in live settings. Beckley and Bunnell has kept going and are still active in 2021, although there's been 10 years since their last album. @@emilymalden3310 Just in case you're not familiar with the band here's some info: America basically were a close harmony Folk Rock trio inspired by Crosby Still and Nash and hit the big time with their first single on Warner Brothers, the now classic A Horse With No Name. Although they would would score a couple of follow up hits in 1972/1973, things really went into the stratosphere when they got Beatles producer George Martin to produce their albums, starting with Holiday in 1974 and Hearts in 1975. Massive hit singles like Sister Golden Hair and Lonely People made America arguably the equal of The Eagles in term of commercial and artistic impact. Things begun to go sour in the late 70s, after losing Dan Peek to religion and the music climate was changing as well, moving away from the Soft Rock of America to New wave and Disco inflected music. Still they were a popular touring ensemble and would get a comeback hit in 1982 with You Can Do Magic, a more hook laden synth popper. More or less not a functional concern in the mid/ late 80s, Beckley and Bunnell resurrected America in the mid 90s and have been relaxing albums sporadically ever since. As a touring band, they're massively popular and they're first class artists, singers and songwriters, writing more or less every song they record themselves. Their to date latest album Back Pages, however, consisted of 12 cover songs and it's a fine album. God bless America! The band, that is!

@@emilymalden3310 I'm a huge 60s/ 70s poprock fan and I would like to point you to my favourite artist of all time, Gilbert O'Sullivan. Are you familiar with him? An English/Irish pop artist who was one of the biggest pop stars between 1970 and 1975. Hits such as Alone Again Naturally, Clair and Get Down were all charttopper either in Britain or America. He blended Beatle esque pop songcraft with music hall sensibilities and wrote some unique songs! He's still going strong in 2021!
Saw them live in Daytona at the Band Shell in 1982 . Just amazing concert … still stays in my heart. When I think I can’t ,I play this and realize “I can do magic”

I'm 28 and have always loved America. Dad is a classic rock and easy listening kinda guy. This type of music is so soothing. Although many of my age don't understand it or appreciate. But this is pure gold ♡

The beautiful music goes on over the time ❤
This band was underated because they were clean cut, well dressed, apolitical, not into pot, LSD, controversial relationships, etc, etc.
Anyone here thinks they should be inducted to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame? they've been snubbed for a very long time , I think they deserved such recognition

4 quitarist and 3 singing in harmony! How can you possibly be more classic rock than that? Right you are! Add percussion to it...I keep current with my rock and metal! But it's a total joy going back in time and listening to this stuff again! Unforgettable and timeless

This song was only presented to me within the past year but it’s quickly become one of my favourite songs ever. Only 30 years of age myself and this song makes me happy in ways today’s music never could. Love to America 🇺🇸
Remember, my darling, that you are Magick!
Just 5 guys on a stage with guitars and drums, no fancy clothes or fancy anything but yet this is one of the best bands to ever exist! there are so many from this era but these guys are way up in the top and best of the best!
