Keith Fenner

Keith Fenner

I'm Keith Fenner and this is my Job Shop. Join me as I perform old school repair jobs by drilling, milling, grinding, welding, plasma cutting, broaching and metalworking on a lathe. At Turn Wright Machine Works, we walk the talk and getter done!

After school, I started my career in naval ship repair as an outside machinist working as a civilian contractor at the helper level. 13.5 years later I had worked on almost every navy vessel in San Diego's harbor, 32nd Street, North Island and Point Loma. I added the classification of an inside machinist to my cap, and the capability of holding any personnel level in the work force.

After that I worked for two small companies that I helped to grow. In return, I gained my welding and shafting experience, before eventually taking a leave of absence to start my own business in 1994 - Turn Wright Machine Works - homesteading my talents here on Cape Cod.

The better design and higher pressure are pretty much the only reasons needed to upgrade. Thicker material handling is a bonus at this point. Overall this is a much more "slick" all in one device for the shops that can't dedicate a larger space and $100,000+ to buy a big waterjet. It's a neat design that a lot of places could use to make money.

Rule of thump subtract the out side pipe diameter and half the Nominal bore . NB Pipe only not tubing example bend 90 length 300mm bend point, 32nb pipe medium 3.2mm wall thickness out side diameter 42.4 so 42.4 plus 18=60.4 now 300 - 60.4 = 239.6 centre of the die if the die is standard bend radius.....

Happy to see that you are back with a swing of new videos! Have been enjoying your work for at least 8 years and recently rewatached almost all your episodes. The Wazer seems like a great addition to the shop. Wish I could get my hands on something like that as well!

Sold a LOT of Enerpack (sp) gear back in the '80s. We had T/K also (Templeton-Kinley) which were less expensive. And incidentally ALL the parts (seals, connectors, etc.) were interchangeable. Mostly "porta-power" stuff. Nobody bought the T/K which IMO were just as good...
