Radar Mast Boring Holes For The Connecting Wire Tubes

Radar Mast Radar Boring Holes For The Connecting Wire Tubes
I set up the two components that need to have matched wire ports to feed the wire for all the accessories we are going to be adding to this project. Setting up and holding odd shapes is a challenge at times but differ ways can be applied and used like what I demonstrate in this video.
Thought of the day… “Made in China” is a warning label….
Life is good! Cheers, Keith

In the past "I have lost some" using clamps. If you do enough you will "lose some" no matter what clamping system you use. If anyone says different then he she isn't telling the truth. That part reminds me of my days in the aerospace business. Looks just like a tail section I used to build for small Cessna aircraft. Keith Fenner the best "set up man" on youtube...

Mr Keith: what great sounds coming from the tubing while welding with AC Square Wave..... next time put a wireless mic in the other end and record some Australian Aboriginal DiggeryDoo music......I work a lot with square aluminum tubing, and when drilling 1 inch holes through the walls.....if you look down the inside of the tube, it is like a kaleidoscope.....as the extruded interior has a mirror finish.....great stuff here Sir......PB

Just realized the old multihead drill press table didnt make the move to the new shop? No room I guess. Would of been a nice size to use to bolt down those cross pieces to help with the twist when welding maybe? Project is looking nice.

Hi Keith, I am sure you could do with one of Jason from Fireball Tools humungus welding tables! 😂 And the little twist you have in that mast is negligible, and you still have a pile of welding to do in installing the external sheeting which will continue to change things until it is finished. In bought a small welding table a few years back, nothing flash, but doing multiple parts and making everything exactly the same has more than paid for it multi times over, and letting it cool after welding keeps everything square and flat. Have you any idea of what it will weigh when finished? and is the 1/4" plate at the base the sole mounting point? It would look brilliant if you had a formed cap for the top. Regards Dennis.

No, the bottom plate is going to join a 5/16" larger footprint with 1/8" crown over 24". I have no idea what the finished weight will be, but I can hang it from my scale. I will be regaining my large steel assembly table, which does well for the average projects that hit my shop. Cheers Keith
