Hi Dave I see you rely on finance to help sell your cars, might I ask how you went about getting your FCA licence? Did you do the application yourself, as it seems a very complicated application process. Or do you have a suggestion for me as we are just at the stage of setting up our car sales side of the business here in Liverpool. Appreciate any help or advice mate thank you in advance. There’s lots of online brokers but we got set up with close brothers, they helped us with the process and contributed to the cost, ok not sure if it’s the same these days.

Great video, obviously we all know German stuff is best for selling, but it's buying it at the right money in the first place, anything clean in bmw, audi, vw makes loads.

Great video guys, I thought I had problems selling loads of Fiat 500s which constantly need rebuilding but I'll happily stick to those and avoid JLR stuff!!

It's not only RRs you blow on bud, I've just dropped a grand on a merc (steering imob) mokka, 66 plate, couldn't sell, 700 loss, corsa, a grand, set to blow 1400 on a bmw, absolutely full of issues, it's basically all tech stuff that defeats you all the time, I'm having a clear out, but you've basically got 2,3 or 4k in a car and it's scrap, your customers demand perfection and you've knee deep in faults, tbh I've been putting troublesome cars to one side so I'm not blowing in my head, but they've just built up and up, even scraps down, I got bid 450 for 2 (!) cars trouble is I've got 3k in them, I must stress I've been in the job 30 years and I'm well up on sorting them.
Is it the case that used car dealers use the same pricing guide to price their for sale stock. I am thinking CAP guide or similar. Dealer prices for similar makes and models are all about the same price and if a car stands out as being cheaper it is usually a catN or catS. Also notice that a number of dealers increase the price only to the reduce it later and claim price reduction hoping to attract the unwary. Love your channel 😊
We just use Autotrader! Never use cap, regarding price increases, there are so many variables you’ll never know why the price has went up, maybe it’s had a cam belt or prep costs went up so the car went up, then the trader got fed up and reduced! You just never know

You've got some big cajonas dealing in that stuff. It would scare me to death having a 20k+ outlay on 1 car, then having to worry about it after selling it for 3 months. Because they have so many extras and components it should be that we can warranty the engine/gearbox, but if you want to buy one of these things, especially over 10 years old, the rest is down to the buyer to know the risks/costs of ownership. I know CRA 2015 prevents that, but that's how it should be IMO.

You’ve lost more than £6k. Because you’ve also lost the let’s say £6k profit you could have made selling other profitable cars instead of spending time and tying up capital in these. So in reality you’ve lost £12k which is a serious dent in your business. Fairly basic business logic.. Wake up! Good vid.

Tbh dave does great, it's the car faults that defeat you, it's actually getting to be an impossible job, time and time again you buy something and it's a proper nightmare, it's basically a miracle if you buy something that's good to go with a decent profit in it and then no come backs.
