The Carla Project

The Carla Project

I'm just a girl...standing in front of a bunch of strangers...asking them to watch me declutter.

Hey, I'm Carla and I created this channel for accountability in getting my life together!

My goal is to create a home I feel proud of, a body I feel good in & a wardrobe I love while inspiring you to do the same!

FREE 23-page Declutter Workbook: www.thecarlaproject.com/clutter-free

I’m excited to share as I makeover my L.A. apartment (one room at a time), curate my style (with capsule wardrobes) & heal my body (50 pounds gone so far). Let’s upgrade our lives together...one project at a time. Subscribe for new videos every Sunday!

Apartment Decluttering, The Carla Project, Organization, Minimalist Capsule Wardrobe, Slow Living, Minimalist Home, Minimalism tips, Minimalism for beginners, Messy to minimal, How to declutter, Decluttering, How to Be a Minimalist, Extreme Declutter, Declutter with Me

I have watched all of these videos and they have been so inspiring... My 23 granddaughter has agreed to allow me to participate in this process for her college apartment. We have had a sincere and honest talk and how important trust is to include someone to be involved in this and I am so proud of her and hope that we will have a successful organizing and decluttering of her current apartment prior to her moving into a new apartment complex. I love the relationship you have with your sister and thank you both for sharing this series. Much love to you both...

Thank you for being so honest and taking us along with your decision making. Have you ever done a colour type? Usually with a consultant you can find out your skin tone (summer, winter, spring, fall) and what colours suit that best. For me it answered why i would like a piece of clothing or the colour but not on me. On this video you can see what colours light you up and which don´t. Ofcourse you can break the rules. But you can usually find your favorite colour in your type. Or wear the colour further from your face like a low cut top or in a trousers or skirt.

Hi Carla, I recently discovered your channel and I think I have watched all of your videos already 😊. I am 36 years old, married, and have two young boys (5 and 6 years old). I find your videos so realistic and relatable compared to most cleaning/decluttering channels. Also love your personality and your videos with friends and your sister. Everyone has really good energy and that makes your content special! Greetings from Pennsylvania

I struggle with keeping things up at times because of my health. What finally has worked for me is I made a have to do list for each day this is stuff I have to do or it will be sabotage!(Dishes, hot spots kept picked up, meals made, meds, therapies and shower are some of mine) then I brainstorm a to do list . So each day I do my have to list. Them of I still have some energy I will do a pick 3 off brainstorm list. It has changed my life and is so easy to manage!!! Hope this helps someone

I used to keep cards but recently went through and kept only my favourites with nice messages, or a couple from each of the people who have since passed. Even then I didn’t keep them all. I never look at any of them but can’t bring myself to get rid of them all!!!

For the cards…you can take a photo, so you can look at them and read, what people wrote, but you don’t to own them anymore :)

I just love that you give us such a realistic version of decluttering…first, for as much as you do, we still see a well-used space that gets untidy like everyone else’s; second, decluttering isn’t just a big cut, it’s a routine edit. Thanks for bringing us on the journey, and your lashes look great! 😍

EVERYTHING can't fit in her new place, so I hope she keeps ALL the plants (many can go her backyard) but releases a lot of the small laminate over particleboard furniture pieces. Quality over quantity!

The lightness in living today by getting rid of things from yesterday is worth way, way more than the having old things tucked away in boxes ultimately taking up room in your brain cuz it's taking up room in your space. The memories you have from the past are all you need - not physical pieces that represent those memories. LET GO!! The freedom that comes w/letting go of STUFF is PRICELESS!!!

You shouldn't donate ripped/damaged stuff to places like Goodwill because they cannot sell them and have to throw it out. Goodwill loses $1 million per year putting damaged donations into the kqndfill. The Trashy Takeback bag recycles fabric items. I oike sewing, So I have a bin of clothes I decided not to keep as clothes, but want to see into things.

Isn’t the new apartment much smaller? Round two of decluttering will be epic to keep the place from looking stuffed to the gills. Hopefully she is building up wild decluttering muscles 🙂

Hi Carla 👋 I'm in my late 50s, married, with two adult children. I live in Australia. I love watching your decluttering videos, particularly the ones that include your friends. They motivate me to sort through my stuff and help me let go of things I've barely looked at for years! I love your apartment. It has such a nice feel to it and I really like the view through the windows. I don't mind older buildings at all, they have a charm that newer builds just can't replicate 🤗 My house was built in 1929 and is in desperate need of a major restoration...but we love it!

My dad died in 1972. I have 2 letters, 2 ashtrays, and a key. I have 3 pieces of jewelry from my mom. My son digitized lots of pictures and home movies. I don't save much because there are some serious hoarders in my family (piles of papers and old VHS tapes). Tina, Al's wife
