Survival! Adventure!... Finding simplicity in nature and utilizing simplicity for a better life and better health. Follow me as I explore this amazing natural world we live in. I will take you to amazingly beautiful places, many of which few people know. I seek to unveil the ancient mysteries of health through a indigenous-based diet utilizing the many wild edible plants and simple animal products. I test my body's ability to endure long hike's in different climates and terrains, to sleep in unusual places, to eat what I find, to endure 1000 insect bites. This channel will grow as I continue to explore and seek answers.

It's awful how people are so disrespectful of other's belongings. My parents taught us : If it's yours, take care of it. If it's not yours, take better care of it."

It makes me sick to think that someone would find any kind of satisfaction in vandalizing anything, especially something as unique and beautiful as your work. Tough question for rebuild. If it gives you satisfaction, do it. If you do and it again is semi or totally destroyed, can you deal? At this point, you just might remember the words of Dr. Seuss when he said, "Don't be sad that it ended, be happy that it happened" and move on. Great channel!

A simple message to people thinking that having little to no respect for objects, nature or just creations people have made is “cool” or “unique” and “badass”.You’re wrong.

Dear Chad; as always your "hut in ruins" video is thought provoking and somewhat painful. With the first iteration of a clay adobe hut you have achieved everything in terms of "primitive" shelter building. From my own experience, one cannot " rebuild/ re-live" the past. You have changed, simply by living; new skills, demands of society and so on. I think your should cherish your past (achievements) and march forward boldly into your future. There are many challenges for America and the world and simply paying taxes is hard enough. Personally Chad; my greatest interest/ love is when you wander away with primitive tools and built fly (temporary) shelters. It is far harder to be on the move constantly... shelters / food / water / wild animals and the most dangerous predators on the planet always watching, waiting to book you for some infraction or another, or to move you on, or harm you in many ways... That is why it is a little painful to see the "human" (I use the word loosely for they only just qualify) damage done to your hut. This has happened to me in New Zealand... I look forward to your work... may your gods be with you oh " white man cougar" . From Ivan in New Zealand.

Breaks my heart Chad. Been with you since the beginning, learnt so much and even feel attached to that hut myself! I say fix it up perfectly, create a strange human-looking figure/effigy out of branches and cordage with a cow skull head, and write “YOU SHOULD HAVE LEFT ME ALONE” in red paint next to it. Definitely make them think twice about messing with any primitive shelter in the future 😂

You need to take what you can from it, the baskets, mats, sage ect, and just go. If you are not staying then it is a waste of energy. It has sentimental value sure, but you can revisit it any time by watching your old vids.

I’d love to see you fix it , but I’m afraid that the vandals will return and destroy it again. Kind of a “damned if you do, damned if you don’t” situation. Many of us have certainly enjoyed living vicariously through you while building the hut. I say that if you don’t have anything better to do, REBUILD IT!😊

Thats absolutely disgusting, some people are vile and have no respect, there is no reason to destroy that hut as it could have helped many wildlife while it was standing. I would say rebuild it but those thugs will just ruin your hard work again, maybe use whats left of it to make shelter for the local wildlife .

I don't think it's wise or useful to invest all the effort in rebuilding the hut unless you really want to move back into that area inclusive of the risks of mal-intented wanderers, but I do think you should put up a sign made of something durable like carved and painted wood. Let people who come across know that this is/was a human habitation site and that the former occupant has been forced to leave for another area because of repeat vandalism. This might deter ne'erdowells but it also will let kind people know about the situation there, and maybe save someone else a lot of sadness or trouble if they decide to make that place their own abode.

What a fail!!! - you are supposed to be representing a person who is living on a island all by himself and teaching people survival skills. Where would someone in that situation get a fishing rod. Where would they get hooks and nylon cords in order to fish. Do your research and watch the details or did you forget who you are supposed to be and what you are representing.

i say, you come back after building a bee hive at the new place and at the same time any wild plants that have seed you should collect and try to grow it at the new place, maybe repurpose any materials fore yr garden or can turn into mulch for yr top soil to retain moisture. maybe think about building a wagon or bartering fore one with any farming resources you can grow in abundance and getting a mule to help in gathering those necessary resources... but the bees are great pollinators and can help in that regard.

You could move a small distance away and build a new hut with some newer materials like making roof tiles instead of the yucca stem roof that the old one had. Just an idea, but whatever you choose to do we'll be watching.😁👍

It is very sad to see how others enjoy simply do damage to the great creations of others. Probably because they are envy... Such a sad and bad trait. Please know I feel extremely sorry for your loss and thank you so much for sharing your memories and emotions with us. Fixing the hut will be possible for sure but as there truly are people enjoying damaging it and knowing it's location I am worried they might ruin your efforts again. 😢
