Really good job! And yes, great mini :). I see you stuck the mini to the bottom left of the base, not in the center. This way the center of mass of the mini looks like it's in the center of the base. Is that how you prefer it? I've sometimes stuck a forward angled mini in the middle, and sometimes to the side of the base. In the latter case the mini looks a little unbalanced, but perhaps also more dynamic? I'm not sure what I like more. I'd like to know your ideas on this?

@@CastellanPetrus black oil paint like smoke from Abteilung 502 and then remove excess with spirits
@@CastellanPetrus you can create similar stuff to shades but way more efficent and poppy then shade colours with actual Oil Paints. Should look it up

I am wondering about the lore about why they dont cover thier brains.... I get they are brain powered... but why not protect thier assests?

How did you paint the Aquila on the chest? Was it hard?
@@chrollo1088 not as hard as it could seem. Half of it was completely covered by the weapon so it is not visible at all. Aside from that, if we paint it first, even of we make a mess, later we can cover the mess when painting the things around it that should be more exposed ☺️

Didnt have enough cloak already so you gave him asymmetric cloak? Hmm..
@@CWHolleman in this case, it was already asymmetric in the original miniature covering only one of the shoulder pads. As I changed the pose, I had to reconnect the cloak with green stuff 😂. I explained all of that in the video making the miniature, but yes, it can look weird just looking at it here ☺️

I got the old edition and the new edition of the Combat Patrol Box, I'm a new player and therefore I'm building a Custodes Army. Did I made the right decision?
@@Francisco.Figueiredo 9th and 10th edition Combat Patrols? I think that that is a PERFECT start for a Custodes army and a perfect foundation for a new army. I think that you did well ☺️ Have a lot of fun assembling and painting them! 😁
@@CastellanPetrus Yes sir. That is the luck that I had starting in to the hobbie. In less than 2 weeks less than 300 euro ( old combat (100€) new combat (110€), pair of pliers (15€) set of brushes (16€), can of black primer (15€), 16 Vallejo paints (40€). Holly mother Jesus. I love it.

Probably at some point in the future, after my army is “finished”, I will start a new crusade and give them a much more Grimdark vibe. Any advice that you could give me about Grimdark Painting? 👀

Looking very nice! When did you start doing the abaddon black step? I know I should do it too, but one of the reasons I picked black was to have the short cut!
Thank you! 😁 Previously I just used it to correct the possible gaps where the primer didn’t reach, but I think that it was after the first Infernus Marine that I started trying to do it consistently. Sometimes I would forget to record it or mention it because it was something new 😂, but it does not take too much time. I just mixed black with water and gave a thin layer on the armour so it was quick. As you mentioned, for me it was also that feeling of “I should do it” ☺️
question, how many demons do i have to sell my soul to to get painting skill like this?
I’m not an expert and most of the techniques that I use are very simple, but with effective results. With some practice you will paint even better than me 😁
I also turned my Sternguard into intercessors with the Bolters from BT kits. Amazing Sculpts

I was also confused what to paint veteran helmets as since artwork shows either white or black so I just paint whatever I feel in the mode between the two
They both look good, so there is no bad decision. But I prefer the look of the regular black helmet with red veteran pauldrons 😁. You are doing good painting then in whatever way you feel ☺️

Do you put them together and paint after? If so, isn't that harder to reach all the places?
As you were able to see in this video, yes, I assemble them and then I paint them 💪🏻😁. In most of the cases, it is easier to paint the different parts and then put everything together, but as I like to make videos painting the miniatures, it looks nicer if the miniature is fully assemble ☺️
