Saved for later! Going to start painting my very first figure ever, waiting on the patrol box and need to buy most of the materials first. For an absolute beginner, could you list all the items you use for a figurine like this, apart from the paint? Like which brushes do you use/recommend, which items, type of mat are best suited etc? Now I only have a cutting tool and a small file, seems the figure holder from citadel would be useful. Or, if you have a video that mentions all this, let me know!

Hello and welcome to the hobby! 😁 Are you starting with World Eaters then? 👀 For an absolute beginner… the most important tools are the paints. A primer to use before applying the paint and then brushes. Which brushes? In my case, I get the cheapest ones that I can find at my local hobby store… 😅. As long as they have a nice tip and you feel comfortable, it should be perfect 😁. The handle is useful, but not mandatory. My biggest advise will be telling you to start painting the miniatures that you like the least from the Combat Patrol box. You will get better with each of them, so you want to get some practice before you paint the ones that you like the most ☺️. And don’t rush it! Take your time with each mini! Enjoy the moment! 😁 That is a very good topic for a video in the future! Also, try to find something to cut nicely the plastic from the sprue and remove the possible mould lines 👀 In case of any question, just let me now! 😁

@@CastellanPetrus thanks for your reply! Yes, I'll be starting with WE. Good tips, I'll begin with either a berzeker or jakhal, as I'll have plenty of those. Last question for now: are any of the cheaper paints worth it, such as army painter, or should I stick with the premiums such as citadel?

Thank you! I got the first miniatures around two years ago. For the last year and a half I have been painting at least one miniature per week. I still have a lot to improve, but for now every time I try to get a little bit better 😅

I like the brown colour of your base! What colour was it?

Thank you! 😁 Didn’t I mentioned in the video? 🤔 It was a… happy accident 😂. I used astrogranite debris for the base. Then I cover it with mourfang brown, add agrax earthshade and finally I just drybrush some skrag brown 😁
