Technique and breakdowns by World Champion Jonathan Thomas. The goal of this channel is to teach you guys techniques that actually work in sparring or competition. No flashy techniques that don’t work. Every technique I show I use in sparring my self or can reference you to footage of it being used in competition.

This is one of the GREATEST free guard passing principles videos ever made. PLEASE don’t take it down. You need to write a book on principles. I’m drilling with my sons… 10 and 13.
Very technical and simple to learn

Holy shit. The outside knee grip just solved a big problem for me 😭 that’s so dumb 😂
Nice
Great details! Thank you so much, Jon.
Tried this today, dude straight kicked me on my face. Currently in the emergency room re-watching the video.
as someone who plays chess and trains jiu jitsu, he is right but i’d say chess isn’t a always the same bjj is not
Love your breakdowns - your videos are an awesome mix of narrated concepts and live-narrated techniques. This is such a great format! Vid is 🔥🔥🔥
Thank you 👊
Very nice content!!
Great stuff ozz from Australia
You're videos are so helpful! You're really helping me to understand BJJ on a much deeper level. I really appreciate it.
👌
Where can I see the match between Lepri and Espen?
always a p'leasure see your videos !! amazing content bro !!
This video really establishes the key framework for demystifying BSC escape confusion! The thoroughness here is really a beautiful thing. The entire work is teeming with pearls of wisdom! I managed this deep analysis by getting out my BJJ notebook and taking notes. Really the only way to keep track of the connection between the escape position and it's potential escape tool. Then, just carry the notebook with you everywhere to review! Deeply appreciate this coach Thomas!
Thank you this has practical principles that can be applied in the next training session.
Best instructional information on the web! I am 60 and a blue belt still training, and this information is extremely helpful! Thank you!
Really fantastic video, Jon!
Hate to brag, but I am a white belt with an intimidating amount of two stripes on it. Yet, I can still learn a lot from your videos. <3
I loved this video. Many a tad long for my attention span but I managed 😂 This is basically my style of guard passing but loads of details I will pay attention to in the future because there is a lot of room for improvement. I struggle with very flexible guard players. So plenty to take away here as regards them trying to get the foot back in. I will be applying this stuff tomorrow & see how I get on. Thanks for the great content!
Happy to hear it buddy! Yeah on retrospect I should have made it two or three video series or condensed it. Gonna be a bit more concise on the next one
What a simple and effective idea 💡
Not gay. Even when one dude insists on wearing no shirt. Or face in crotch. Or both. IT'S A SPORT OK?!
Would love you to talk about the ecological approach. It seems your venturing into that concept with this video
So much good material thx! The one I’m going to try is the step back around their knee shield. I’ve been stuck behind some strong knee shields and I think this will help.
That knee shield run around is great! One of my new favorites!
Thanks!
Thank you so much for the support means a lot!
Very useful information presented clearly. Great video!
Thank you so much!
this is amazing
does it work in an open half guard too?
4 year 1 stripe blue belt here. Half way through and I had to stop and comment that this video is straight gold
Great vid as usual thanks Jon.
Very nice!! Not many people discuss the foundational principles of Jitz. This really breaks it down. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. OSS!
Your vids are a must to watch it really helped my jujitsu so much thank you 🙏🏾
There’s some great hair in this video.
Great content as always, thank you so much
As always, great vid jon! I have trained with jon and espen, these guys are simply awesome, not just talented, but great teachers and people.
Would you be interested in doing a seminar in Springfield IL?
Xande uses this one!
This was more great content.... when is the Patreon coming?
Awesome mini-instructional. I didn’t mind paying for the ones you sell because your youtube channel has 100 times more free content of the same quality. Thanks!
Love all your videos but concept driven seems to stick best with me. Thanks for so much good content!
