This One Mechanic COMPLETELY Changes Passing

Спорт

The head tripod has been one of my big new focuses when passing the guard, often we focus on trying to hit our guard pass perfect;y but if you are good and using the tripod and scrambling to finish the pass you can convert passes from not perfect entries.

I've been doing this instinctively, but after watching this, I think I'll be able to make more conscious decision to keep my head down in other scenarios too. Thank you, Jon!

Awesome content as always. I really love this style of passing and using my head to flatten people out. A lot of my training partners have good retention and knee shields so this helps a lot

GOLD. The editing and voice over was top notch in this one. I caught glimpses that make me want to adjust the "half north-south" I use (side control, but north south arm positioning). Would love more on controlling side control and north south

I like the way you break the moves down. I have a fake hip and bad back from a childhood disease, so I'm not as mobile as some people, so anything I can do to create pressure is what I'm interested in. I'm 6'1 230 lbs, so I look for ways to utilize my size to slow the more athletic guys down.

Actually wanted this one to be a bit longer but after finishing it just ended up being pretty short. Gonna make the next one a bit more in-depth with more sparring. Could easily add highlights at the end to lengthen and give more context

@@JonThomasBJJ It went very well. I've only been at the gym since February, but I get to surprise my colleagues every time. I was able to attack them several times from the back with your trick, but I don't know any other holds after that. Your video with the fast learning I have watched several times, just where you wrote also (reason: I am 43). Thank you, God bless you richly!!!!!!!

Hey Jon, could you do a video on systematically breaking down BJJ for a beginner? I've just started training and it's pretty overwhelming with all the different names of techniques and positions flying around, when I haven't had them introduced to me. (I've watched most of your beginner videos.) I was hoping you could break it down almost like how you'd break down the stages of a chess game (an analogy I've heard you use before). Thanks

I forget what match it was but I remember the commentator saying the guy should have tried passing all the way to north south instead of just side control. I started using it when faced with someone with super Gumby legs.

I'd like to watch the attacks from turtle position. About 15 years ago, I saw the guy who attacks from the turtle. He goes to turtle by himself and waits for the opponent's attack, and he counter attack the opponent. He was black belt and he beated No.1 in our dojo and won the tornament. If you have time, please up attacks from the turtle position, not defence. Thank you
