I LOVE MY SURGE! To me it all comes down to noise and precision of control. I can't compare precision with all the other drivers, but of the few I've used the Surge has the best trigger and control. But hands down it is so much quieter. Every other driver I've used I need ear-pro. Not with the Surge. I also love the small Milwaukee batteries. The driver (and drill) both fit in my tool belt so much easier with the small batteries.

Agree. These are best for a car tire. Buddy of mine had issues with two of those Kobalt inflaters. Both worked great when new! But after a few years and several uses, each one konked out on him. He refused to buy a 3rd one. I keep that Ryobi in my car. Along with one of the company's larger capacity batteries, and a charger. All 3 fit well inside a mechanic's tool-bag. The inflater? Loud! Takes a while to inflate a flat. Hold down the button the entire time. Shakes a bit in hand. Grip is only comfortable if you wear XL-sized gloves. But, budget inflater that just works. Saved me from getting stranded handful of occasions in the last 4 or 5 years. Last time, my aluminum rim was damaged. Bent inward, and a sharp point had penetrated the tire. Couldn't see it from the outside. With the rim jammed up against the tire, I had an extremely slow leak. Used my Ryobi. Two days later had to use it again. Used it a total of three times like that until I got it to a garage. That Ryobi more than paid for itself already. Though at the time I knew nothing about Ridgid. Having a non-battery option of inflating a low tire is a huge plus! If I didn't already own the Ryobi, I'd buy the Ridgid in a heart-beat.

Sooooo....what the dongle can do vs what software you used are not necessarily the same. You looked at systems analysis and error codes....Carista was one of the only few where you can program features of your car. OBDLink MX+ has a lot of technical ability AND is supported by MANY apps. Just wanted to let you know that the software you used, in some cases, may or may not expose all of the capabilities of the dongle. Closed solutions like Bluedriver can do more because they both work together.....OBDLink MX can look really good or bad depending on the app you use but it has a lot of technical feaures in the hardware.

I’ve bought 3 lock and Lubes, and rebuilt them a couple times. They always seemed to leak and were hard to use in tight applications. Since then I put the lock and lube on the shelf and have been using a lumax. It’s lever design was easier for me to use, similar vise grip leverage, I’ve never had it leak and the lever makes it easier to disengage off of high pressure zerks. I plan on trying the lock and lube again and see if I just got some duds. But for now Lumax gets my money.

I have Flex and Milwaukee that I use for my business and Hercules and Milwaukee in my garage. The problem with the Hercules as a hammer drill is the portion of the drill body that the handle clamps on is just grey plastic, not metal like it should be, so after repeated stress to keep the drill from twisting you are going to see that plastic strip and fail.

@@Tools-Tested Yeah Ridgid is so weird! They’re the house brand of Home Depot, but so is Ryobi. They’re licensed by TTI from Emerson, but Home Depot is in the mix somewhere as well. Red Ridgid and orange Ridgid are effectively entirely different but also not. Just really odd! I’m not one for conspiracy theories, but the theory that octane was getting to close to Milwaukee Fuel does seem at least plausible. I doubt we’ll ever know the true reason for killing octane, but I’m willing to bet it’s not as simple as it was getting to close to fuel territory. Regardless very strange.

I thought Makita didn’t use 21700 because they couldn’t make them fit in their 18v tools that took two packs side by side? If that isn’t the case, then my God they’re far worse than I thought! Assuming size is the limiting factor, I’d like to introduce Makita to a style of battery that’s been around for a very long time, can fit in nearly any enclosure, and almost always has the best performance. Pouch cells!
