    The reason they don't compare the old to the new is that there may not necessarily be a reason to upgrade from the old one to the new one unless you are investing in forge batteries. This charger seems focused soley around forge batteries compared to the other rapid chargers which seem designed for universal usage by all m18 batteries.

    You should have tested the 6.0 HO on the old Supercharger too.

    This is cool and all. And I can’t wait for batteries to go to solid state. But a 6ah battery charging in less than 30 min is awesome. Just constantly cycle 3 batteries. I may just sell all of my 5ah batteries and get these instead.

    Yeah its definitely impressive, just with both ports fast charged at the same time.

    Does a rapid charger reduce the number of charges a battery can take or reduce the run time? Is using a standard charger better?

  • @PcGamer1654

    @PcGamer1654

    If it's not designed to take a fast charg and you force its max input in all the time, yes, it will shorten the life span of the battery.

  • @Tools-Tested

    @Tools-Tested

    Yep overtime it will, the standard charger is currently the best for battery cycles.

    The new super charger is definitely faster than the old super charger if I remember correctly in a previous video it took the old super charger 26 minutes to fully charge the 6 amp forge

    So which battery will give me the longest runtime. The 12.0 or the forge. Looking to Power my fish finder with it.

  • @Tools-Tested

    @Tools-Tested

    9 ай бұрын

    Runtime will be longer with the 12AH, the forge is only a 6AH so the 12 is double.

    3:56 interesting how much heat was around the terminals of the 6ah HO. Wonder how they reduced that in the forge. Different metal or coating?

  • @Tools-Tested

    Yeah its crazy how hot the area around the pins is on the 12AH, they must have changed coating or contact area with the Forges pins.

    Yeah the 5ah is a pouch cell Graphene battery. The 2ah and 4ah are the normal round cells.

    Does charging faster lower the life of the batteries?

  • @Tools-Tested

    @Tools-Tested

    4 ай бұрын

    Yeah it will, how much is hard to say though without long term testing. Slower is better if possible, you will also typically get longer runtime from a pack thats slow charged vs rapid charge hot.

    We need to get you the new Bosch rapid dual bay charger, no current sharing as each bay gets the full value - that's an eye watering 32amps total. They have released it in conjunction with tabless cylindrical lithium cell battery packs, they claim the heat dissipation is better than flat pouch packs but we will have to wait and see some real world tests.

    @Popajaja vor 0 Sekunden I'm a Milwaukee-Fan because Milwaukee has the best Li-Ion batteries. Most of the world's top manufacturers install quality cells in their batteries, but Milwaukee has an advantage. Why? Because the temporary failure can be reset with the intelligent charger. I found out from a KZreadr that Dewalt batteries have the same features? I have very bad experiences with repairing Makita, Hikoki or Bosch batteries. All the cells are like new, all the voltages are the same, and the batteries cannot be used or charged? The BMS in the battery has locked the same and it is impossible to unlock it, so you have to replace (if there is one on the market) the printed circuit board.

    @garyganser2451 2 hours ago If I heard you right, for M18 batteries the new Supercharger puts out less watts than the Rapid Charger. I dont understand that.

    The new charger has a lower max amp draw per the spec vs the older charger. That being said the new charger will charger at a higher amp over the complete charge of the battery vs the old charger surges and then provides less amps to the battery over that same time.
