I don’t think the American audience is backing her as much as the South African audience is. Because even when I made a video and had her picture in my video I attracted a lot of people from South Africa even tho I have a mainly U.S. & UK/Australian Audience and never had them interact with my content previously. This is the beginning stages of Tyla’s career but as far as I’ve seen her target market (African Americans)aren’t really rocking w/her on social media anyways. Which I think is due to the controversy and what you stated about the culture vulture statements in the video. And be it the breakfast club interview happed around the same time the “Not Like Us” video dropped black American people are hyper aware right now when it comes to culture vultures or as Kendrick Lamar calls them “colonizers”. I was really taken back at the Tyla hate because I really like her I think she brings a certain element we have been missing for a while now. So when I heard of the culture vulture criticism, arrogant behavior and the industry plant stuff I was conflicted. And now that I’ve seen this video and others like it, I sadly see there may be some truth to what your saying. It really hit home when I heard the back story on how she came TYLA with the whole manger thing and Sho Madjozi. Idk there is definitely something going on with Tyla and her branding/marketing but Tyla is very talented and I do enjoy her music. I also think her label might be using her.

You don't even listen to any of the South Africans commenting under this video and educating you. You refuse to have any conversation where you learn anything from actual South Africans 😐SMH America will not go anywhere with people like you. The Little Mix girls are rushing these solo careers, and honestly....🫣 dare I say it, I don't think anyone wants to hear any of them solo. Each of their new songs thus far sound like songs from the cutting floor of an LM album. Of all the other girls, it's clear she had a very clear plan on what her solo career would look like. Sadly, because she's had that plan, it feels too calculated. Like she started off with the movie role. Then, she used the sympathy she got from the Jesy/Nicki situation and used it to gain sympathy with being only Black girl in LM to keep the girlies enthralled and as a Black woman I feel like she and Normani got the short end of the stick with that and the white fans, but Leigh-Anne also has a history of being nasty to other Black women and that makes it feel as if she's pandering to our community to support her. Now, that she's spitting out music on overdrive and is constantly going to the different outlets to push her songs, I just wonder who is she really and can she really make an album without having to lean on her race or the drama of LM that has solid songs on it that don't just sound like B-Sides to LM's old stuff. As for your feature comment, I will say Leigh-Anne has been featured on other artist's work, but I don't think it was a) organic and b) marketed to the right audience. For instance, she was on Jon Batiste's World Music Radio album and it felt so random. Almost like, her label or team called in a favor for her to be on a Grammy award winner's album who she was not sonically compatible with since Batiste is more of a modern Jazz and classical artist (he did a track with Willow Smith and THAT collaboration makes sense). She's also done some covers on her own where she partnered with other artists on her own KZread channel. Is it enough? Maybe not. But, I think it does prove that Leigh-Anne's label was invested in her at one point.

Yeah….I don’t think it’s true. And even if it was in the past. I’ve watched in recent videos and she’s very well balanced understanding what it means to be black. And especially light skinned black. So I’m surprised by your comment. And would wish you gave facts, but IF it’s true I hope you can reconsider and allow her to grow bc she’s well balanced now and deeply cares. I’ve think from the very beginning but more now than ever.

I think it's a case that one girl wants success too much (Leigh-Anne) and the other girl is being thrust into the spotlight when she really doesn't want it and seems to only be doing this to appease fans at this point (Normani). With a girl like Leigh-Anne or Chloë, the desire to be a star is palpable to the point of embarrassment. Watching Chloe and Leigh-Anne is hard because they're trying so hard to fit into the expectations they or their fans have set for them while also going against their natural nature to create a product that's so adverse to the branding that would work for them. Like you said, it's an authenticity issue with both girls. I don't believe the sexiness Chloe is selling. Then, Leigh-Anne expended so much energy trying to make the world hate Jesy for what was deemed blackfishing (even tho the girl never said she was Black or mixed and was made out to be the "urban one" by their management and then got blamed for the branding in the end) while laying in bed with a colorists who is degrading her fellow Black woman, having a best friend who also blackfishes, AND having sabotaged a fellow Black woman to the point the woman still struggles with her mental health to this day on X Factor...But, of course Leigh-Anne's whole artist identity is now about her being "pro-Black" and using the "my man my man my man" angle to sell an EP. On the other hand, it almost feels like Normani is still trying to force a career singing because she feels like she has to. She seems like she'd be happier being just an A-List celebrity at fashion shows and living off the residuals of her Fifth Harmony years. And I get it! The fans and foes have dragged her to hell and back emotionally and that girl has to be tired because I'm tired and distraught for her with each setback she has.

there´s a reason why most of the comments on here disagree on your opinions about leigh-anne... you contradict yourself by saying you don´t find her authentic but also say she´s saying too much, so what´s your real opinion?? sure, what andre did (that we know) is not good, BUT we would that be important leigh-anne as an artist? she´s sharing a story, not being proud of it, she has literally said their relationship went through a lot of shit. I personally loved the EP, I don´t get too caught up in what or how their relationship works since it doesn´t concern me. as for the performing part at the end, yes that´s the reason why she released this. she´s already performing and has a small tour this october, which hopefully means she´s announcing more dates soon and maybe more performances on other international festivals. I think the smartest more for her was this EP, so she can start performing more in different places and grow her audience, instead of going for an album with low sales, debut and chart positions that could put her in a worse place. there´s a new single coming at the end of the year, possibly in september as she told us on a streaming party and it will have the promo again. she´s confirmed she´s finishing the album and we can expect more unexpected things from her, but that the sound on NHF was the real introduction to her sound and that will be even more noticeable on the album.

I fear Normani is too late, it’s not exciting anymore and people got bored waiting and her songs imo weren’t better than motivation or Wilde side. She really has bad promo and I it’s feel she is capable of more and we’re not seeing it. Now onto Leigh Anne, you seem to be too invested in her relationship and you’re too focused on Andre and your dislike for him and putting it on her. How did you not understand her ep but everyone else does? Why would she take time off when she has to stay relevant to make a bigger fanbase which can take awhile? That makes no sense. You seem to be confused on her identity when it’s actually crystal clear. She’s been solo for one year and you’re already complaining about so many things. She’s been in a group for 12 years let her find her footing and have this experience without you rushing her and judging her when you have no clue what you’re gonna hear in her album. You want her to sing ballads well she already confirmed there are some and even wrote a song about her twin girls. Take a breath and stop being dramatic and nitpicking about everything she does.

I heard Normani's former manager Brandon Silverstein messed up a lot of stuff for her. Her new manager Lydia Asrat is probably still cleaning up the mess. Leigh Anne's relationship with her husband seems very toxic and she fought for that?

  • @Jadeleighpezforeva

Leigh Anne and Andre were toxic back in 2016. It’s 2024 and clearly both have grown, married and have two twin baby girls. You act like people don’t grow, they cheated on there partners big deal get over it , that is something that’s sadly normal in this world and not something to hold against anyone for the rest of their life as there are bigger issues in the world. They are happy and in love today and that’s all that matters.

Ok you really need to calm down and do your research on Leigh Anne. You did nothing but tear her down and misinformed her point of the ep. You saying she doesn’t have songs about love etc is ridiculous. Anticipate and I’ll still be here are clearly love songs to her husband. She is allowed to express herself n her music and you being uncomfortable is simply your problem and you seem a bit immature to handle imperfect blunt relationships being talked about. She wrote these songs in 2020-2022 so clearly this is her just getting things off of her chest. These songs aren’t even in the album so I’m not sure why you’re over criticizing them? You asking for a ballad etc is you not understanding that it’s obviously on her official album. She is actually having the most success of LM right now when everyone thought it’d be perrie. She didn’t get any budget cut she makes most of the choices and her team supports that. Her 3rd official single will be in September and she confirmed a big budget and promo. Please do your research before making such ridiculous videos and just ranting about your personal feelings for her relationship that has no affect on your life. She didn’t rush a thing, she’s not getting any younger so the time is now not later .
